The @IsaAshiruKudan manifesto for Kaduna State is a beautifully articulated and well thought out document. What I find particularly compelling are the proposals on security, many of which are practical, measurable and attainable within the short to medium term.
Our proposed reforms in education, economic development and the civil service also have the potential to transform Kaduna and, by extension, provide a model for Northern Nigeria.
Most of the challenges bedevilling Arewa are solvable. What they require is strategic thinking, political will and the determination to see through difficult but necessary reforms. One thing I particularly appreciate about this manifesto is that its proposed targets and KPIs are realistic, measurable and achievable.
Kaduna has an opportunity to chart a different course. Let us give Rt. Hon. Isa Ashiru Kudan the opportunity to present his vision and serve our state.
A better Kaduna is possible.

Atiku Accuses DSS Leadership of Recruiting Protesters to Disrupt ADC Campaign Rally in Sokoto
November 3, 2026
Former Vice President @atiku Abubakar has accused the leadership of the Department of State Services (DSS), also known as the State Security Service (SSS), of allegedly recruiting protesters to disrupt the African Democratic Congress (ADC) presidential campaign rally scheduled to hold in Sokoto State.
Atiku, the ADC presidential candidate for the 2027 general election, alleged that the planned protests were part of an attempt to create disorder, provide justification for imposing a curfew and ultimately prevent the party's campaign rally from taking place as scheduled.
He made the allegations while addressing journalists, where he also accused President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's administration of using state institutions to frustrate opposition parties and undermine democratic competition.
According to Atiku, public facilities that should be accessible to political parties for legitimate campaign activities had been blocked, while logistical support for the ADC rally had allegedly been withheld.
He described the development as a calculated attempt to deny opposition parties a level playing field ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Atiku said:
“More disturbing still, the information available to us is that the leadership of the Department of State Services is recruiting people to stage protests in Sokoto.
“The objective is to create disorder, give the APC-controlled state government a pretext to impose a curfew and prevent our campaign take-off from holding as scheduled.”
The former vice president further claimed that some of the protesters had assembled at an office behind Zenith Bank on Koko Road, from where trucks were allegedly being dispatched to strategic locations, including a roundabout.
He also alleged that the protesters were causing traffic congestion, threatening commuters and assaulting some residents.
“We know where some of these protesters are assembled: an office behind Zenith Bank on Koko Road. Trucks are stationed there and dispatched to key points, including the roundabout.
“These mobilised protesters are causing gridlock. Commuters are being threatened and, in some cases, beaten,” he said.
Atiku described the alleged involvement of security operatives in mobilising protesters as political interference and called on officers involved to desist from actions capable of undermining public confidence in security institutions.
“This is not intelligence work. It is political interference dressed in official uniform.
“Security agencies exist to protect Nigerians and uphold the law, not to recruit protesters or help a political party manufacture a crisis,” he stated.
He called on the DSS leadership to ensure that its personnel remained politically neutral and discharged their responsibilities in accordance with the Constitution.
Accuses Tinubu Administration of Weakening Opposition
Atiku also accused the Tinubu administration of devoting more attention to weakening opposition parties than addressing the country's economic challenges.
He alleged that the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) had adopted a strategy of political absorption and intimidation, including attracting former opposition figures into its fold, in an attempt to narrow the space for political competition.
According to him, the development was aimed at gradually turning Nigeria into a one-party state.
The ADC presidential candidate said the administration should instead concentrate on addressing the rising cost of living, which he noted had left millions of Nigerians struggling to afford basic necessities.
“For three and a half years, the Tinubu administration has devoted too much energy to weakening credible opposition and too little to solving the problems facing Nigerians.

This is what organic supporters look like. No uniform, just genuine love, loyalty and respect for the party ADC. This massive crowd represents people who are hungry for change, they are tired of APC and their clueless leadership. They’ve failed woefully across all sectors and their end is near insha Allah. Good bless the good people of sokoto state. God bless the federal republic of Nigeria

BREAKING:
Senator Aminu Waziri Tambuwal has opened all his houses in Sokoto to accommodate ADC campaign visitors ahead of tomorrow’s Presidential Campaign Flag-off.
This comes after the APC-led Sokoto State Government reportedly blocked access to accommodation facilities across the state in an attempt to frustrate visitors attending the ADC rally.
We sincerely commend Senator Aminu Waziri Tambuwal for this exceptional show of leadership, generosity and commitment to democratic values. His gesture demonstrates that true leadership is about making sacrifices for the collective interest.
Despite every obstacle, ADC will not be intimidated. Sokoto is ready!
