Don’t want to take anything away from Milan who played well with a MOTM performance by Moreira. BUT Tonight Chivu proved once more that he is nowhere near ready for a job like Inter. Once again in a big match he shows how green he is, making Tactical decisions from start to finish that were incomprehensible, not just to us watching but more importantly to the players on the pitch.

3-4-2-1 with Sucic & Diouf behind Thuram suggests Inter playing with a false 9 as Thuram will drift out wide with Sucic/Diouf or other central player running into area from deep. Brave to try it out in derby for first time.

Worst performance of the season by Inter in terms of attitude & approach. So arrogant & unconcentrated winning thanks to nothing but bad luck for Venezia who score 2 owngoals + have 2 goals disallowed for offside. Inter have Milan in derby on Sat but this attitude: inexcusable.

In the end a day at the office kind of win for Inter without much drama. The biggest positive is the calm & systematic reaction to going a goal down when grinding Bologna down. The biggest negative: again the defence. All over the place: individually & structurally lost.

WHAT A BALL BY BARELLA!! Outstandingly patient build up by Inter & wonderful header Thuram

Embarrassing.

4th consecutive loss in the Champions League for Chivu. His Inter have now lost 7(!) of their last 8 matches in the Champions League, only win vs Borussia Dortmund in last league phase match last season. This season Inter have conceded 14 goals in 8 games all comps.

Another outstanding Inter comeback in another great 2nd half showing after yet another awful 1st half gifting 2 goals, this time after collectively going asleep in defence twice. Conventional wisdom suggests this isn’t sustainable in the long run, especially in Champions League.
