Tony it’s for me such an interesting and great film for Matt Johnson because for once he’s not using the format he’s more known for (The handheld style) and he’s also not acting in the film. So this made him use a more subtle approach while also connecting Tony to himself-

-at times it feels as if Tony it’s Matt writing himself into the film and his experience with lying through his life to evade (or change) reality. And also it feels like his more mature film with the way it handles facing responsibility and growing up.-

-Yeah it can be seen as his more “normal” film but I don’t think this is something bad. We can see him branching to other styles and how much he can still be who he is as a director through his themes. It’s impossibly to watch this movie and not see his career reflected on it.
