𝐒𝐥𝐲𝐁𝐥𝐮𝐞⚡️𝐕𝐓⛩️

I've been pretty quiet about this, but since there's apparently a bit of a trend of people announcing that they didn't get in, lemme contribute my two cents. Yes, I didn't get in. But at the same time, it's fine. And I'm going to explain why, because I've seen so many of my friends being genuinely sad about not getting in, and it breaks my heart to see them feeling that way. Feeling like they're not enough or that they don't have "the talent." All bullshit. Yes, I'm going to be harsh about this, but you all really need to stop thinking like that. Or else I'm going to chase you all down and bonk you. As someone who's been in the music industry for a long time and has faced rejection from contests, TV shows, and so on, I consider myself extremely lucky to have matured in this regard a long time ago. Once I did, I gained SO MUCH MENTAL PEACE. Those who know me know that I worked at a record label, where I learned so much about how the music industry really works. It's never about "I'm not talented enough." You ARE talented, but talent alone is NOT ENOUGH. Yes, it sucks, but no matter how hard you try, the chances of "making it" or succeeding on talent alone are just... minimal. Because there are a hundred factors that have nothing to do with you and are completely out of your control. One of my most traumatic experiences (and there have been so many others like it) was having to reject a girl with an INSANE voice simply because she wasn't "pretty enough." The executive producer was like... "Oh yeah, her voice is pretty good, but how is she gonna sell with that appearance?" In that moment, something clicked inside me, and my entire perspective on how the music industry works changed. This is just one example in a sea of factors that are rarely within our control. I knew from the beginning that I had basically zero chances, but that's okay! We can address the elephant in the room when the time is right, if needed, but now isn't that time yet. I used my audition video as a presentation video and met so many cool people thanks to it! Maybe if it weren't for this audition, I wouldn't have made that video. So I'm still grateful for the time I spent on it. From the beginning, I wanted to incorporate my music experience into VTubing. I just wasn't sure how to do it. So I'll continue making music, regardless of the outcome of any audition! I've found happiness in producing and mixing a long time ago, and now in composing songs as well. So I'm going to keep walking this path, because what I choose to do is up to me. What others think of you or see in you, though? That's not up to you.
