I moved house 4 weeks ago and sent final energy readings straight away. Today I received email to say that the final balance will be sent to me in 2 week’s time and may take upto 10 days to reach my bank. Why does it take so long, @OctopusEnergy ?
I moved house 28 days ago. Sent gas/electric readings to supplier. Account is a few hundred in credit. Today I learn that the refund has now been “actioned” and “once approved” will take 7-10 days to reach my bank. Surely all it takes is a few clicks on a computer. Why so long??
Why is it so difficult? I’ve tried burly moved house. Informed all utility providers etc and given meter reading where appropriate. For most I’m getting refunds for paying monthly etc. Council tax came through in a few days. Internet provider owe me 56p. I’ll let them off…cont.
British Gas homecare tell me they’ll take no more money and refund me a small amount, but continue to take the money, insisting it’s the last payment. Still editing to hear from energy provider and water company - we’re now 3 weeks down the line. Why’s it taking so long…cont.

I get what you’re saying why doesn’t anyone else?
I turned 60 a few weeks ago. Today I had a letter from DWP reminding me I can’t get my state pension for another 7 years. Totally out of the blue. Unexpected. Why?
Just to clarify: I’m very aware of when I’m due to get my pension, hence using the word “reminding”. I’m just shocked they sent a letter telling me about something that’s going to happen (assuming I’m still alive) in 7 years time. Quite a few rude comments. Some now blocked!

@WelshNatOpera is there an error here? Not sure Hildegard would have touched subjects like Oedipus or Bluebeard?

Just seen a post from Tynemouth RNLI on FB .. one of their team is doing the Great North Run (half marathon) in full inshore kit. He had set a target of £1,000, and the current total is £14,984, plus Gift Aid. Good British people are NOT represented by masked guys in balaclavas.

The RNLI has not released a specific monetary total for donations received this week, but has reported a "significant increase" in contributions and new supporters amid recent public events.
This is the England I want to live in.

If you’re anti-RNLI save yourself the bother - block me now
My Dad - former Royal Navy - was such a strong supporter of #RNLI we had his name painted onto the side of a RNLI lifeboat to commemorate him
Everyone who serves in the RNLI is a hero, risking their lives for others
We have super-duper internet speeds and so much information at our fingertips, yet selling a house is such a long drawn out process. We have nothing to buy. Our buyers have nothing to sell, yet here we are on week 13!

MPs who don't show up in parliament or their constituency should be forced to do 20 hours of unpaid work a week as a condition of receiving their benefits

This exactly 💯 most schools would be flayed for not offering a full curriculum... Seen it many times. They escape this kind of normal scrutiny.
