It looks cute and harmless—big eyes, soft fur, slow movements—but it produces a toxin from glands on its elbows. It licks the glands, mixes the secretion with saliva, and delivers it through a bite. The venom can cause severe pain, swelling, and potentially life-threatening allergic reactions or anaphylaxis in humans.
