LOVE this film. Christopher Plummer is outstanding. A well deserved Oscar to cap an illustrious career. But indeed his best performance of that career.

Love after almost losing it
This is what it looks like when someone finally stops running. In God’s Own Country, Johnny doesn’t arrive with poetry or some big, polished declaration. That wouldn’t feel real. He shows up breathless and emotional, stumbling over his words while trying to be better. He’s travelled all that way just to finally bare his heart. “I want you. And I don’t want to be a f*ck-up anymore.” And for a second, Gheorghe almost walks away. That’s what makes it hit so hard. Johnny’s spent most of his life hiding behind anger, silence and most of all shame, so watching him stand there, shaking, stumbling, asking to be loved feels huge. The tears. The small smile. The way Gheorghe touches his cheek before they lean in. It isn’t flashy or cinematic. It’s quiet and earned. Two people finally choosing each other after nearly missing their chance.
What makes this film so important is that it lets queer love stay. No punishment or tragic last act. An ending they deserve. Directed by Francis Lee and led by…

Sometimes, the hardest battle is learning to stop being ashamed of who you are. Everyone deserves to love freely, live proudly, and never apologize for being themselves. ❤️🏳️🌈

Let people be whatever they want to be
No one should face threats, violence or rejection because of who they are or whom they love. 🌈
I’m preparing a fundraiser to help LGBTQ+ people in Liberia who need food and essential medical care. My plan is to support groceries, clinic visits and medicines.
I’ll share the donation link soon, along with details about how the help will reach people.
I’ll also post updates while protecting their privacy.
If you can help when the fundraiser launches, I would deeply appreciate your support. For now, please share this message. Everyone deserves safety, dignity and care. 🌈🌈🌈🌈🌈🌈

There is something special about seeing two people who are genuinely happy together. The connection, the friendship, the laughter and the love make everything even more beautiful. Keep choosing each other 🌈🌈
