Banning people who cross by small boat from claiming asylum?
It's wrong. Plain and simple. Here's why...
It's World Book Day! I read 'The Lightless Sky' by Gulwali Passerlay recently and it opened my eyes to the reality of being a child refugee from Afghanistan. What an incredible read. @SchsofSanctuary

No one should ever lose their life trying to reach sanctuary, @SuellaBraverman.
But without safe routes, people are left with no choice. Make sure there are no more deaths in the Channel.

In fresh research we launch today, we reveal the fact that hundreds of refugee children in the UK are being mistakenly judged by the Home Office to be adults. As a result, these vulnerable children are being placed at risk of abuse and neglect. THREAD🧵#ChildrenNotAdults

“Intercepted migrants crossing the Channel in small boats will no longer be deemed ‘illegal entrants’ but ‘arriving passengers’”
Great to see this coverage in the Telegraph - we hope all their readers take note.

Hey @PennyMordaunt, the Rwanda scheme is brutal. It tears families apart, destroys lives & flies in the face of international law & human decency.
Everyone knows it, now you need to say it.
Say you'll #LeadWithCompassion: scrap the Rwanda plan.
