I’ll be deleting this Twitter account at the end of the year, but maybe I’ll be more active on BSky afterwards.
Replying to @AmericanAir
@AmericanAir is probably the worst airline it is ever my displeasure to fly with. I hate how prolific they are. Every time I fly them, there’s some god awful mechanical or staffing issue that leads to hours long delays.
Latest info: Someone from my flight grabbed me in line and said gate agents at C11 gave him a hotel voucher. I went over and tried to get 1 since my flight is already rebooked. The women told me to get back in the customer service line. Quote: “We were helping, but not anymore.”
Sort of just screaming into the void now, documenting my last flight with @AmericanAir and why. This is all such a waste of precious time I could be spending with my family. And piss poor customer service at every turn - including from the social media arm.

Feel like any time someone ponders this stuff, the basic premises of higher education are left untouched. Why would students want to use essay generation? Because the university is not seen as a place to engage with ideas but has been made into a job factory
AI is about to kill the undergraduate essay, and the chasm between the humanities and technology means that we're totally unprepared for the moment. Wrote about it for @TheAtlantic: theatlantic.com/technology/a…

I've had the most unproductive time working with @KLM trying to rebook a flight that was initially cancelled in March 2020. They've price gouged me twice now. Today I'm told I either lose the money I already put in or pony up $1000+ to save my voucher. Never flying them again.
Do I know any scholars situated in the Bay Area with work focusing (broadly imagined) on queer community? I'm hoping to connect about an opportunity for a cool discussion with a group of my students. #soctwitter

Very random, but is anyone looking into mixed-mask practices of family units? It’s just so befuddling to see a family in a public place where some, but not all, are wearing masks. How’s that negotiation happen?
