Some of you are relying on talent to do a job that requires discipline.
Your ability gives you an opportunity.
Your habits determine what you do with it.
Stop practicing like your spot is guaranteed.
Start preparing like somebody is working to take it.

Your time in the jersey is temporary.
Your impact on the standard can last.
Respect the players who made that jersey mean something before you arrived.
Do the work to make it mean even more when you leave.

A terrific message for any current grad assistants, coaches working their way up the Division I ranks, or aspiring college basketball coaches.
No matter how far you go in this game, never forget the kid who first fell in love with it. ❤️

This is the week roughly 40-45% of D1 women’s soccer teams seasons are over. Conference play begins. To be done before Halloween is always kiss of fate. Don’t ever take lightly any postseason play your team qualifies for.

How many times do you run the same session before moving on?
Run it at least twice.
First time: players learn the organization and the roles.
Second time: they're in position and know what's expected.

Coaches: Stop trying to motivate players every day.
Build habits instead.
Motivation comes and goes. Standards remain.
The goal is to create a team that knows how to work, communicate, compete, and respond… even when nobody feels motivated.
That’s culture.

Great coaches make it about the players! Simple and I truly hope coaches take something from his example. Show up and do the right things. This is so great to see Pat win like this.
Some of the best years of my life and my career were in Great Falls. The people, the community, and the program shaped me into who I am and helped me get to where I am today.
Never forget your formative years as a coach. Family we are, Family we stay.

I love when managers go into this much detail about their tactics. Could listen to stuff like this all day. Fascinating.
🚨 José Mourinho: "I told Camavinga that Tchouaméni will stay low and protect the defense, and you will attack SPACE.
It's difficult for any attackers to attack space against Barcelona, the only solution is to do it with your MIDFIELDERS.
When your attackers do it, Barca's defense is prepared and coached for that, and your attackers end up being offside, or the pass ends up being cut by Joan Garcia.
The solution is to use midfielders like Camavinga and Bellingham to break that line, and it worked."

If you want better culture, start by learning to connect with your people.
