When everyone was getting hyped up about 2077, I ignored it cos I didn't like the idea of "a title trying to claim an entire subgenre" (wasn't aware of the tabletop game at the time) so I completely missed out on the release fiasco and didn't play it til it'd gotten cleaned up

Admittedly it was post-Edgerunners, but I played the game first at the behest of a friend who insisted it was a lot of fun. So I played it and went "oh shit yeah this is pretty fun" and then watched the anime after my first playthrough

Animating weapon manipulation like reloads and shit is fun but it's extremely slow and the runtime it takes up does not usually compensate for the amount of time it takes to actually make. An entire damn day for like 2 seconds of reloading. Shucks

This makes me wonder - wouldn't there be a (rather niche, I think) demand for full-ganic Spec Ops / Mercs that would rely solely on their skills and "outdated" firearms without electronics? In certain circumstances they would seem irreplaceable against, say, Netrunners
