“I wasn’t the fastest guy in the world. I wouldn’t have done well in an Olympiad or a math contest. But I like to ponder. And pondering things, just sort of thinking about it and thinking about it, turns out to be a pretty good approach.’ – Jim Simons

Nobody grew up with intentions of being a cleaner, cashier or security guard. We all had big dreams but life happened. Respect other people’s jobs.

Reminder: America is not a Christian nation. It is a nation in which you are free to be Christian. Or any religion you want. Or to have no religion at all.

It’s cool living during late stage capitalism in the richest country in world history, bc we have a trillion dollar military, & like 3 guys can list space travel as a personal hobby, but apparently we’re too poor to afford day care or a functioning public transportation system…

If you think Black people were better off financially in the 40s and 50s and better off socially before the Civil Rights Act you're either lying or legitimately stupid.

Being Black in America is wild because you're minding your own business and then one day you discover there's been a 7yr+ war going on between two factions of racists fighting over who hates niggas more. And a cartoon frog is at the center of it all. Like??????

‘Booty’ and ‘butt’ are synonyms. ‘Call’ and ‘dial’ are synonyms. But, a ‘booty call’ and a ‘butt dial’ are VERY different things.

I've seen some commentary about Cook's stance, like if she was sufficiently dovish or not. I don't really think that's the point.

Almost a decade ago I was the Harvard economist that said that bitcoin was more likely to be worth $100 than 100k. What did I miss? I was far too optimistic about the US coming to its senses about sensible cryptocurrency regulation; why would policymakers want to facilitate tax evasion and illegal activities? Second, I did not appreciate how Bitcoin would compete with fiat currencies to serve as the transactions medium of choice in the twenty-trillion dollar global underground economy. This demand puts a floor on its price, as I discuss at length in my new book Our Dollar, Your Problem. Third, I did not anticipate a situation where regulators, and especially the regulator in chief, would be able to brazenly hold hundreds of millions (if not billions) of dollars in cryptocurrencies seemingly without consequence given the blatant conflict of interest. cnbc.com/2018/03/05/bitcoin-…
