Epstein file emails reveal how Bitcoin was really governed early on🚨
Newly released 2015 emails claim Bitcoins core code was controlled by just FIVE developers.
The emails compare them to Linux maintainers a small group deciding what changes shipped to the protocol.
After the Bitcoin Foundation collapsed, multiple organizations reportedly rushed to step into the vacuum and influence Bitcoins direction.
One message explicitly says funding was used to “move quickly and win this round.”
This wasn’t about mining.
This wasn’t about price.
It was about who controlled development.
Bitcoin survived this era, but these emails challenge the myth that it was always fully decentralized.
Now the question everyone is asking, is Satoshi a person, or a group?
Lets look at the whole
"CLIPPING THING" Objectively for a second. that means NO SIDE PICKING!
1$ CPM? seems really low... with a limit to it... seems not worth.
In Leon's defense, this was only one campaign that they did. (others we're 4$-5$ CPM)
In Jonah's take... idk if they're beefing or trolling with Leon, i don't care tbh, that doesn't concern anyone.
But lets talk prices, we must look at a couple of things.
1. What you do to earn the money
2. How much is the CPM
3. Compare it to other platforms
1. if you wanna make a CLASSIC clip, roughly, the clip itself... 20 ish 30 seconds, is already given to you. So you need to add subtitles, maybe a cheeky edit here and there, with a transition or smth... thats it. 30 mins tops.
2. CPM for X SHOULD BE AT LEAST 4$+ depending...
The limit on it is bad. BUT THIS IS NOT A BAD PRICE
3. ON TikTok and Instagram... THE CPM FOR CLIPPING IS 40 FREAKING CENTS FOR 1k VIEWS!
let me repeat that
0.4 $ per 1k Views...
CLIPPING IS NOT SOMETHING THAT PAYS WELL... IN GENERAL
People have to keep this in mind, because what you're doing essentially is marketing another person/brand but you get paid for it... so it works out
IF TikTok and Instagram pay 0.4 per 1k, and looking at how views on X are actually more valuable in a sense
at least 10x of that price should be for X
so if 0.4 is there, here AT LEAST 4$ per 1k views, no limitations, if my clip gets 1 Milly? Well then... I'm eating good
I could ramble about this forever but i don't want to and you probably didn't read this far anyway...
CYA LAAATTEEEERR
No way this is still needs to be told to people...
You got money for your "click post" button?
YOU GOTTA TELL ME!
It's not rocket science, if you get paid to promote a company, you disclose it
There are plenty of creators out there who do this (and i'm proud to call a lot of them friends)
Unfortunately, there are many more, who do not
Can argue til the cows come home about the merits and ethics and virtue of content creators taking such deals, but on this part at least, it's unambigious what the right thing to do is (in part because it's the literal freaking law in a lot of countries)
There are a lot of gray areas between being paid for a post to being an "advisor", or an investor in a "KOL round", or having newsletter sponsors that you shout out on X (like I do) or whatever... but the premise is the exact same: if you're being compensated (in USD, tokens, very favourable dealflow terms, whatever) as payment for you promoting a company or project... you freaking disclose it
Some way, some how, just do it
Why would someone not disclose? Because they want to deceive their followers, it's as simple as that
Why do they want to deceive them? For more views, more money, more something — but it's for their benefit, and to the detriment of their followers and anyone that consumes their content
Want to go above and beyond with your disclosures? Check the link in my bio, and do something like that
If as a creator this still doesn't appeal to you, think about your own self interests then — if you get "found out" for making undisclosed shills, your reputation takes a heavy hit
Reputations take years to build and a moment to lose, so, like, try not to lose yours over something that's so easy and simple to avoid by writing like 5 extra words on a post
This isn't a subtweet or specifically about the drama going around today, I have no idea what really happened there and haven't seen any convincing evidence yet, but it just made me think about this topic again and I wanted to share some thoughts
Things that social media has normalized, but they arent
- Quit your job to be "free"
-Always travelling
-Overnight success
-Perfect curated lives
Dont believe this.
One day you will look back at everything and be thankful the journey was hard.
