There are lots of good OBs that will support mamas with mono-mono twins (no membrane between the babies). It’s treated as high risk, but there are so many options aside from “many would consider killing one at this point”.🤦🏻♀️

Lots of you asked: "What consequences for disobeying?"
Here's what I do when my kids ignore a direct instruction.
AGES 2-4: IMMEDIATE & SIMPLE
I tell them once. Count to 3 in my head. If they haven't moved, consequence happens.
• Loss of the toy they're playing with (rest of day)
• Immediate time in room (5 mins)
• We leave wherever we are (park, store, friend's house)
Example: "Put your shoes on." They ignore me. Count to 3. Still sitting there? Shoes go on them, toy gets taken, we're done playing.
AGES 5-7: MAKE THEM WORK
Ignoring me costs them effort, not just fun.
• Clean a toilet
• Sit in room for 15 mins (boring, no toys)
• Early bedtime (30-60 mins)
• Miss the next fun thing (dessert, TV, playground)
Example: "Clean up your toys." They walk away. I remind once. Still nothing? "You just earned a toilet. Go."
AGES 8-10: LONGER CONSEQUENCES
They can handle delayed consequences now.
• Clean multiple toilets
• Loss of privileges for 24-48 hours (screens, friends, activities)
• Go to bed an hour early for the week
• Miss the weekend activity they were looking forward to
Example: "Take out the trash." They say "in a minute" and never do it. Consequence: No friend time this weekend.
AGES 11+: HIT WHAT MATTERS TO THEM
Take away what they actually care about.
• Phone gone for days, not hours
• Can't go to the event they've been talking about
• Loss of car/driving privileges
• They do MY chores plus theirs
Example: I ask them to do something. They roll their eyes and don't move. Phone's mine for 3 days. Non-negotiable.
THE ACTUAL KEYS:
Give the instruction ONCE
Don't negotiate or explain 5 times
Count to 3 silently (they learn fast)
If they haven't started moving, consequence happens
Stay calm, don't yell
Never back down once you've said it
None of these use spanking because some parents freak out about that. We used light spanking early on but by 6 we moved to other consequences. The benefit of a spanking is it gets done, you reconcile with the kid and then move on.
The key is that some sort of consequence happens...so the child learns you will keep them accountable. Otherwise who runs the house? You or the kids?
I stole this discipline trick from the military.
My kids used to ignore me until I repeated myself 5 times.
Now they respond the first time. Every time.
Here's what changed:
I give the instruction once. Then I count to 3 in my head.
If they haven't moved by 3, immediate consequence. No warning. No negotiation.
They learned: Dad's words mean something.
Consistency beats volume.
