We noticed that some schools were finding it difficult to register many students for the Special Maths Contest (SMC) 2026/2027 because they had to create multiple email addresses for their students.
We have solved that problem! 🎉
Now, you can register as many students as possible using just ONE email address! No need to create separate email addresses for every student.

We are excited to share an important milestone for Special Maths Academy!
Following a collaboration meeting with the Universal Basic Education Board (UBEB), Abuja, the Board has endorsed the Special Maths Contest (SMC) and agreed to partner with us to promote the competition and reach more students.
This is a big step towards discovering young mathematical talents and giving more students the opportunity to showcase their problem-solving skills. 🧠✨

Today, the Special Maths Academy (SMA) team was represented at the SDG Maths Competition in Abuja by Wakiliat Oyiza and Haliru Animoku, where we had the opportunity to interact with and encourage young girls to actively participate in mathematics competitions and STEM opportunities.
During her address, Wakiliat highlighted SMA's partnership with the National Mathematical Centre (NMC) in identifying, nurturing, and preparing talented students for prestigious international competitions such as:
🌍 International Mathematical Olympiad (IMO)
🌍 Pan African Mathematics Olympiad (PAMO)
🌍 European Girls' Mathematical Olympiad (EGMO)
🌍 And other global STEM opportunities
She emphasized that the Special Maths Contest (SMC) serves as one of the major pathways through which students are identified and prepared for these opportunities, encouraging the girls not to be afraid of competition but to see it as a platform for growth, excellence, and global impact.
The vision of the SDG Maths Competition aligns strongly with SMA's commitment to ensuring that girls understand that Mathematics, Science, Technology, Engineering, and related fields are not reserved for boys alone. Girls belong in these spaces, and they can excel at the highest levels.

As a student of Penny International Secondary School, Lagos, Chimfunanya was registered for the Special Maths Contest.

Four SMA Students. One Major Milestone. A Fully Funded Journey to AOA. 🇳🇬🇷🇼
We are delighted to celebrate four outstanding students of Special Maths Academy (SMA) who have secured fully funded scholarships to the African Olympiad Academy (AOA) and have now arrived in Rwanda to begin the next phase of their mathematical journey.
Please join us in congratulating:
🎓 Andrea Amokeoja — DSC Technical High School, Delta State
🎓 Ovie Joel Okpako-Onyokoko — Graceland International School, Rivers State
🎓 Lu Luis — Nigerian Tulip International College, Abuja
🎓 Kamdrichukwu Aham — Mountain Crest School, Imo State
This achievement is particularly meaningful to us because it is a testament to what we are building at Special Maths Academy: identifying exceptional talent, providing quality mathematical training, and connecting young people to opportunities that can transform their futures.
Through our collaboration with AOA, these students underwent weeks of intensive training at SMA, followed by a rigorous selection process involving a series of examinations and interviews.
The competition for these scholarships is extremely tight. With only 30 slots available in each cohort for students from different parts of Africa, earning a place at AOA is a remarkable accomplishment.
Yet, SMA students clinched 6 of those 30 slots.
Today, four of them have already landed in Rwanda and are beginning this exciting new chapter at AOA.
But there is even more to celebrate.
Two of our students from last year’s AOA cohort, Chimfumnanya Aghaduno and Abasiofon Otobong Sampson, have also returned to Rwanda for the new academic session.
This means that our students continue to benefit from this partnership beyond a single cohort, with SMA students progressing through different stages of their mathematical development at AOA.
For us, this is more than a scholarship.
It is evidence that when talented young people are given the right training, mentorship, exposure, and opportunities, they can compete and excel on the continental stage.
We are deeply grateful to the African Olympiad Academy for this partnership and for creating pathways for talented African students to access world-class mathematical education.
To Andrea, Ovie, Lu, and Kamdrichukwu: Congratulations! 🎉
