The sheer joy of watching Casey Costello, former leader of Hobsons Pledge, publicly humiliate herself on a national stage is almost too much to bear. Her ludicrous attempt to equate nicotine to caffeine, suggesting a latte could cause lung cancer, is just the tip of the iceberg. Her claim that a document, clearly written by tobacco lobbyists, simply "turned up" on her desk, and her subsequent decision to hand it over to tobacco officials, is the epitome of dishonesty and a blatant disregard for her position as Associate Minister of Health. Then, she submits reports to cabinet advocating for a $216 million tax break for Phillip Morris, while simultaneously denying any lobbying for the tobacco industry. The sheer audacity of her lies, coupled with her nonchalant appearance on ZB talkback, where she feigned ignorance about the controversy, is truly comedic gold. Ayesha Verrall, please stop asking for her resignation Casey Costello is a liability and our best hope this is a one term government.

Mitchell is as dumb as a bag of rocks. Everyone knows that Operation Cobalt has been years running and was only tweaked recently for him to pretend it was ‘new’. There are tens of million$ recovered and hundreds convicted. This operation today will have been part of that intel.

This is how the coalition government propaganda works they fire the existing board and replace them with one of their mates normally a former National party MP. They then blame the previous administration with accusations of overspending or mismanagment and then slash that departments budget with bombastic claims these budget cuts will improve services. Jobs for the mates by an unethical government hell bent on enriching the real estate industry.

Whichever way we look at it…..we’ve been fucked, and without our consent. Turns out pre-election promises were all about power and not empathy…..there’s a surprise! 🙄

A Labour minister would have been screamed at four weeks to resign over this level of corruption and lies Let's see if @chrisluxonmp and media take the same stance with @cjsbishop This and the fast track letters clearly show a corrupt minister newshub.co.nz/home/politics/…

NZ Auditor-General is concerned about the #fasttrack bill’s lack of transparency & lack of protection against ministerial conflicts of interest. Will the govt majority on the parliamentary committee considering Bill heed or ignore these serious concerns? nzherald.co.nz/nz/politics/a…

Oy vey, our ‘Hebrew’ brethren rarely fail to impress with the measure of righteous umbrage they’re able to muster at the drop of their yarmulkes. Most method actors would kill to be able to draw upon it as well! As for moi, I’d have parted with a week’s ‘hard earned’ shekel just to have witnessed the look of unalloyed apoplexy on their dials after being ejected from their hotel digs for their kvetching! 😙😉👍🙏

Even if it was true that "things didn't improve", how would laying people off improve anything? Why would there be obvious causation? Why and how do they believe those additional workers actually made things worse? Make it make sense.

Here's @WillieJLabour taking National to task for prioritising $2.9 billion of landlord tax breaks over supporting children. Cutting services like teacher aids will have huge impacts on teachers already struggling with the workload of supporting students affected by the pandemic

Isn't the Cook Strait Ferry basically SH1? Why bother with these other expensive fixes to move traffic around Wellington 'faster' if you have a sub-par and dangerous ferry service? newshub.co.nz/home/politics/…
