The sheer horror of this.
Islamic State-linked militants raided a village in eastern Democratic Republic of Congo, killing at least 33 civilians and forcing patients with confirmed and suspected Ebola infections to flee, authorities said on Friday. reuters.com/world/africa/isl…

Another bombshell on the billion dollar OSAP scandal.
Over 8,300 OSAP applications came from just THREE IP addresses. The Ford government was warned as early as 2023 and received over 220 tips, complaints and referrals since January 2024.
They had the warnings. They refused to act until Oct 2026. Now students are paying the price.
We need a full forensic audit.

I’m very happy with the election results but this Canadian will not be travelling to America, or buying its goods until the orange felon and his tariffs are gone.

Very encouraging news: Oxford/Serum Institute’s ChAdOx1 and Moderna’s mRNA-1469 vaccine candidates have been recommended to join the Tumaini trial in DRC, pending national approvals. Both target Bundibugyo virus.
Alongside advances in treatment research, these are sorely needed additions to the toolkit that could help bring this devastating outbreak under control.
Thank you to the scientists, researchers, health workers, patients and trial participants making this work possible. Their contributions offer hope and the evidence we urgently need to save lives.

Asking Premier Ford why he accused students of abusing OSAP and buying "fancy watches and cologne" when his government overhauled the system, when we now know a handful of private career colleges are to blame for exploiting it.

No Russian or Belarusian teams at the World Juniors. Not under your flag. Not under any other. Period.

Doctors, nurses, all healthcare workers I beg you - please wear a mask at work.
Be a role model.
My neighbour sat through a heart attack rather than go to hospital and catch Covid from the staff and die, as my husband did.

This is actually kind of wild because once you hear it laid out like this you can’t unhear it. The 90s “wow… yeah” sarcasm and the early 2000s vocal fry on conference calls hit way too close to home. Armisen’s ear is disgusting in the best way.
Fred Armisen breaks down the fascinating evolution of conversational accents and speech patterns decade by decade on The Tonight Show.
"I've been working on some impressions of accents through the decades"
1900s: "the manufacturer and the farmer, people thought it was very British, but it's actually very Dutch and German"
1920s: "They start getting very aware of the microphone"
1950s: "It starts to flatten out a little bit. I'd like to on a Friday night, I'd like to read a book on a Friday night"
1960s: "Diverges a little bit where there's an official sort of news hour... and then the sort of people in interviews looked like they were in shock"
1970s: "There's a whisper to it. There's a sort of confusion as to what's going on, there's a whisper"
1990s: "Very kind of laid back, wow, the nineties laid back, yeah, very sarcastic and ironic, wow"
2000s: "You start to hear the vocal fry... guys are in a meeting and they can sort of hear that throughout when they're talking on a conference call"

The more I think about it, the weirder it is that Doug Ford actually made Ontario more dangerous. The vices more available, the highways faster, the bike lanes gone, healthcare workers fired.

Apparently some people need the same lesson every year.
No, the COVID vaccine does not create sterilizing immunity.
But in a 2026 JAMA Network Open household study, recent vaccination was associated with nearly a 50% reduction in transmission to household contacts compared with unvaccinated primary cases.
And the 2025–26 updated vaccine still reduced COVID hospitalization by about 53–55% in recent U.S. data.
So yes:
It can reduce your chance of getting sick.
It can reduce your chance of severe disease.
And it can reduce your chance of passing the virus to someone else.
None of those effects are absolute. No serious person claims they are.
The remarkable part is watching someone in 2026 announce, with great confidence, that a vaccine must either stop every infection and every transmission or it “does nothing.”
That is a toddler’s definition of efficacy.
Replying to @drterrysimpson
This is laughable, "getting a disease and/or spreading the disease". Only retards would believe that it stops transmission and infection in 2026. You need to get in your time machine and go back to 2020/2021 when everyone was eating those lies doc.

“Allowing 10% of our patients to get infected is unsustainable,” said Hunt. “The cost is simply too high. Billions of dollars are spent on treatment, and many billions more are lost to the inefficiency of blocked beds.”
