I was given a whistle to referee the @snapbacksports and @BearkatsMBB shoot and it’s the most power I’ve felt in my life. I’m a full-time whistle guy now.

These are Cory's grades, not PFF grades, for the Kats in 2026. Make of them what you will.
The offense has declined rapidly since CUSA play began, and the defense hasn't played well in two of the last three games.

In full transparency, the award-winning producer Cory Hogue was listed as 'out' on the CUSA availability report submitted by @SportsofSHSU and will be unavailable for tonight's podcast.
Unfortunate change of plans. There will not be a podcast tonight as Cory has become progressively ill throughout the day. Apologies for the late notice.

It should be interesting to hear what Cory and @SportsofSHSU have to say about last night's game and the obvious frustration in the locker room live at 6 p.m. tonight on this account, YouTube, and Facebook.

Final: @BearkatsFB 24, NM State 30
The Kats fall at home and move to 1-6 on the year.
The offense broke the TD drought but struggled for the majority of the game once again and totaled 11 rushing yards.
Another tough loss in a season that continues to go the wrong direction.
We hit the 2 minute timeout.
NM State has it at the Sam Houston 38 with a 2nd and 8 coming up.
Kats have no timeouts after burning them early in the half.
After a series of penalties and one touchdown that was already nullified, MJ Dowdy runs it in for his first career TD.
It is now 30-24 NM State with 4 minutes to play.
Got the points you needed but took a lot of time to do it.
Have to get a quick stop here.
Sam Houston goes for it on 4th and goal and cannot convert as the score remains 30-17 with 9:54 to play.
The Kats are 0/8 on 4th down this year.
Sam Houston has taken its final timeout with 12:08 remaining in the 4th quarter.
Kats have the ball in NM State territory.
30-17 NM State going to the 4th.
The half started with a big TD to Tim Burns and then went south quickly.
Jerrian Parker does bring some life into the team on the final play of the quarter with a big play on a screen pass.
End around play is botched and NM State gets it back in Bearkat territory.
Absolutely can not have that happen.
