Edited, there will be around 220,000 people reported to the police each year

The Crime & Policing bill is in parliament tomorrow, the bill that we estimate will see over 220,000 people a year be reported to the police for cooking or pursuing their outdoor hobbies.
This is the worst implementation of knife legislation we have ever seen. We're all for reporting suspicious purchases and have been doing so for 3 years. This just means we will be reporting around 5 scout groups a day to the Home Office or Police.

This bill means you will be reported to the police if you buy a set of 6 steak knives online. It needs amending!

The inbox for these reports will be full of legitimate customers, we estimate to investigate each legitimate purchase from just our site will take around 4-8 hours a day and we are not Amazon!

To elaborate further, all purchases that fall within the table, unless made by a VAT registered LTD company, will have to be reported.

When Microsoft had an outage the other month they were able to give details of CrowdStrike being the source. We need to know who to contact about this to get some actual timeframes.

A third party provider, could you please name them?

@TylByNatWest @NatWestBusiness Your lack of response to this tweet tends to strengthen my position that you've had some kind of serious breach. Are our funds from yesterday safe?

So it's a breach then?

An expected timeline would be helpful, if you suffered some kind of breach and it's going to take days to get back online we need to know ASAP.

It's pretty bad for an outage to take this long, can you confirm that you haven't been hacked @TylByNatWest?

Hey Elliot, Sorry we let you down this time, I just checked with the team and it sounds like they sorted this out for you. Sorry about this, we'll have a look how those items are packed in the future. I hope your son has a good birthday tomorrow!

Don't worry! I didn't take it that way, we're always happy to help and engage. Being high up on Google for the term machetes is always something we have to manage and comes with quite a bit of responsibility.

2/2 the companies that won't engage or help are the problem. I believe we are the only company that asks purchasers of large quantities of machetes for a justification for purchase.

1/2 The trouble is, plenty of legitimate people do buy them: agriculture, groundskeepers, fisheries and a roof thatchers from the last couple of weeks. We work with the Met and try to advise on new legislation where possible. More needs to be done for sure.
