Historically, Barça’s identity is the 4-3-3. La Masia produces players for it, and midfielders like Pedri and Frenkie need that structure to thrive.
We’ve had chances to lean into a 4-2-3-1, with Messi and co, but it’s never stuck as the base. Olmo and Fermín aren’t reliable starters in that role.
Flick needs to drop the 4-2-3-1 and go back to the 4-3-3.
