Huge thanks to @AFC1903analysis for reminding me of other sites exist😅 Not perfect and a bit rough but its for Saints fans so hopefully has some value to those interested. Can try to add things if somethings missing, and will tinker constantly anyway stjohnstoneanalysis.co.uk/

Just after hearing chat about Motherwells side last season vs this season, decided to look and ended up looking at all 11 sides who played over both last season and this season so far Last seasons figures dont include games after the split, which I dont have data for 1/3
🆕The Spoony Chop 🟥Kai Fotheringham's red card 🚮Put Rangers result in bin 🚪Is door open for Logan Chalmers start? The latest episode of Courier Sport's St Johnstone podcast is LIVE at the usual places. With @Detroit67Book, @C_ENicolson and some other peely-wally character.

Had completely forgotten how memorable our last home game, in the league, v Motherwell was, and how wild the line up was Sprangler + Wright in a back 3, Kucheriayvi + Griffith starting, Douglas as the LWB Not even 2 years later but likely only one of those starters starts here?

Added percentile bars to the site to add more context. Will adjust radars later to add in new metrics. Alic remains unreal, but worry the 3 most used to support Fowler all lean towards defensive stuff? Too much time between slip and goal for Cotterill to be "blamed" yesterday.

Jordan McGhee in midfield for Motherwell for the first time this season, you wonder if they think he'll be more combative for the 2nd ball situation? Previous seasons suggest he'd be an improvement for them.
They play today, so maybe will have improved something in their set up, but Wednesdays opponents Motherwell are the worst "second ball" side in the league, particularly in the midfield area They play the 2nd most amount of passes, but are the most susceptible to counter attacks

Last season they were the possession side everyone craves to be. Seem to have to started this season similar but are steadily going more direct. GK and LCB the most common pass but GK shows more direct balls to the wings in past few games, whereas first few had none.

Is Cotterill going to be Simos Gary McDonald? Where fans dont see the appeal but the manager does? He ended yesterday with the most chances created (3), most ball recoveries (9), and 2nd most 2nd ball wins (3) Do think hes just not suited to playing deeper yet though?

Games now up on the site. So well beaten theres maybe not a huge point looking at it much, but my xG model reckons Fowlers 1st half chance was harder than it looked As said Kim for Rangers looks like one of those who is a level or two above this league stjohnstoneanalysis.co.uk/

If its any consolation the last time we lost 4-0 at Ibrox we then beat Rangers in the next game at McDiarmid. Which was the James Brown "where did that come from?!" game.

- Mikulic looked dominant and I'd consider him starting soon - Fotheringham showed why we need 1v1 players in attack - Cotterill too ball watch-y to play deep, players ran off him too easily with no on ball upside - I like Steven but we need actual goals/assists from him now

Makes sense to realise it's Andrew Dallas who's the VAR for that decision too Picked up an injury that forced him to retire, coincidentally, the exact same time VAR was forced upon us So desperate to still be relevant he has to make sure he gets to make some form of decision

Refs have no common sense. Anyone with a fucking brain sees the pitch is soaking, so quite how they expect a player sliding to manage to stop themselves when there's a player a yard away is beyond me VAR slowing it down and going for a close up is pathetic and missed comtext

Mind when Nicky Clark got sent off at Ibrox for an absolutely nothing incident where he wins the ball? And it was so ridiculous it's never happened since and the SFA admitted it was a mistake? Well the exact same thing has happened to us, again, away to Rangers...

Very much subs to get minutes into legs/save people for Wednesday, and honestly fine with that. Nothing really to lose as first half set up wasn't getting us back into the game.
Back underway at Ibrox and three changes for the Saints. ON: Mikulic, Fotheringham and Schmidt. OFF: Finlayson, Fowler and Campbell. #SJFC | 🔵 1-0 🟡

Need more intensity but hard to know how that comes on a heavy pitch in these conditions when your opponent has free rein to drag you back by your shirt whenever they wish Suspect this ends with Rangers winning by a couple as their aggressive set up causing too many problems

Feels like far too much space in the middle of the park in front of the defence. Any time Rangers move the ball quickly they're getting space around our box.

Didn't expect Holt to be dropped and unsure on that one, think he's massive for us in terms of controlling the pace of the game and Cotterill can't do that. Glad Gullan is back in as we'll be reliant on "moments" and he can be that guy.
Lining up for the Saints in Glasgow this afternoon 💛 #SJFC
