History Club made food from Second World War ration recipes today, including carrot cookies. It’s fair to say the reaction was mixed…
History Club made mock banana sandwiches using a Second World War ration recipe where you mash boiled parsnips. We don’t think we’ll be seeing them in packed lunchboxes any time soon!
On Tuesday, Big Apples walked to @waitrose. They explored the store and bought some biscuits to decorate with icing sugar and sprinkles. Mrs Cook snuck in a pumpkin too! The children paid for their items at the till. Later that day, they decorated the biscuits with icing.

It was a very muddy but fun Forest School today for Maple Class. The children enjoyed toasting s’mores on the campfire, raking the leaves, collecting worms and, of course, jumping in the muddy puddles!
We have been having lots of fun writing our own Silly School Poems this week ready for #MichaelRosenDay! Here are Maple Class with their poem where they imagined there were lots of animals doing funny things in their classroom! We hope you like it, @MichaelRosenYes!
Here are the words to Maple Class's fabulous Silly School Poem:
At school today a penguin came
He sat down neatly and wrote his name!
A monkey read a giant book
Then cooked some noodles with a hook!
A giraffe wore shoes upon his nose
And painted purple stripes on toes!
Beech Class had a wonderful time with their History Off The Page Ancient Greek Day! They tried mosaic making, wax tablet making, soap carving, tile painting, clay pots and clay medallions as well as Greek dances and plays and, of course, delicious Greek food!
Children from Beech, Willow and Big Apple Classes had the most wonderful afternoon at Sudbury Arts Centre learning about East Anglian traditional dances with Glass House Dance. They did molly dancing, promenades and dosey dohs to traditional music, 80s disco and @raye!
