Budanov’s point is that Putin is trapped by the war he created. He cannot achieve the victory he promised, but ending the war would expose the failure behind Russia’s imperial myth.
That is why Moscow keeps fighting. Not because it has a real path to victory, but because admitting defeat would mean admitting that Ukraine broke the image of Russian power Putin built his regime around.

The Middle East is in massive trouble.
Iran has officially ordered the full activation of its Mosaic Defense Doctrine.
31 independent bodies have now been given the authority to bomb targets across the Middle East.
This is because Iran expects some of their key leaders to be assassinated after the midterms.
The primary objective of the 31 provincial commands is to continue bombing the Middle East even if the regime collapses.
This means the war may not end even if the Islamic regime is completely wiped out.
A fresh list of targets has been delivered to the 31 commands across the Middle East.
The main targets are undersea Internet Cables.
In Phase 2, the 31 commands will most likely aim to destroy online banking, cloud computing and ATMs.
AI facilities, telecommunications infrastructure and software linked to Amazon, Google and Microsoft are also at serious risk.
The UAE, Saudi and the entire Middle East are staring at tens of billions of dollars in losses.

A Russian drone struck a building housing a private school in Kharkiv at around 7:45 a.m. on Oct. 22, just as children were arriving for classes.
Four children were inside the school at the time of the attack. All were evacuated to a shelter before the drone struck.
