The nights are growing longer, ancient winter folklore is stirring, and somewhere in the mountains of the Alps, a horned figure with chains and a bundle of birch branches is waiting for his season. Meet Krampus, the fearsome companion of St Nicholas in Alpine folklore. While St Nicholas rewards well-behaved children, Krampus traditionally comes to frighten and punish the naughty. On December 5th, Krampusnacht brings this centuries-old winter tradition to life. Halloween was never the end of the strange and supernatural.
