It's been a few days since I watched YOU CAN SEE EVERYTHING and I can't stop thinking about it. Truly a masterpiece. Brilliant at every turn. Layered, complicated, nuanced. A mirror. Everything you want out of a film, but rarely get anymore. Can't wait to see it again.

You’ve been hearing me talk about all the work we’ve been doing in Italy and with various film commissions in the region through Stage 32 Certification. Always nice to get recognition for those efforts. What started as an idea at the Torino Film Festival 11 months ago has turned into a movement. Now we’ve been featured by both Cinema & Video International and Italy for Movies highlighting our global mission and specifically our expansion into Italy and the Italian entertainment industry When I started Stage 32 15 years ago, my mission was simple: No matter where you live in the world, you deserve access to the people, education, and opportunities that can move your entertainment career forward. Seeing that mission continue to grow across borders is something I’ll never take for granted. Over 1.5 million members worldwide on the platform, 70 film commissions, media companies and orgs we’re now working with through Stage 32 Certification, the world’s largest and leading entertainment education library, and we’re still just getting started! Huge thanks to both publications for the fantastic coverage. More exciting news to come. Much love ❤️

And in the least surprising news of the week... They've been digging this grave to the center of the Earth since the mid 2010's.
Hollywood’s center of gravity is increasingly tilting to the East Coast. While California kept its crown at No. 1 with $1.76 billion in movie and TV production spend, New York is drawing major titles at a much more rapid pace, according to industry tracker ProdPro’s closely-watched quarterly snapshot released on Thursday. The state surged 87 percent in production spend in the quarter to $1.61 billion compared with California’s 17 percent uptick. hollywoodreporter.com/busine…

Met with two film commissioners from very different regions on my trip through Italy. I asked them how much U.S. productions have increased in their territories the last two years. One: 60%. The other: “75% conservatively, and no sign of slowing down.” Staggering numbers. The global map of film & TV production continues to be redrawn.

Launching Stage 32 Certification has been one of the most rewarding aspects of running the company these last 15 years.   Today, I’m proud to announce that we’ve partnered with the Discover Dominica Authority to help advance Dominica’s film industry by training and certifying dozens of people in the area to assure we put them to work and keep them working.   Nearly 70 film commissions, orgs and media companies across the globe are now using Stage 32 Certification for training. Many more to come.   Cheers to the DDA for making this latest partnership happen.

Many takes out there on who would benefit most from a federal tax credit. And, as per, some are insightful and some are way out in left field. This one, from entertainment attorney, Sam Roseme, I believe, falls into the former. At the very least, it raises some questions as to how much California truly would benefit in comparison to other states. I don't think it's coming for 13 Oscar noms, but I see your point. Personally, I love that it exists and I can't wait to see it. And, may I add, the hand wringers know nothing.
The hand wringing about Digger being a gamble really confuses me, this is clearly just WB doing One Battle After Another again, a big budget original auteur driven fall release that skips festivals and relies on the names attached. And look how that turned out. They’ll be fine.

Love his shows or hate 'em, you have to give him credit. He's turned the Hollywood suit fear game completely around. Namely, fear of greenlighting anything original to fear of turning anything he comes up with down. Good for him.
How Taylor Sheridan built a $1B TV empire, without needing Hollywood, A-listers or Emmys trib.al/Z9rw5TN
Readers added context they thought people might want to know
The article mentions Sheridan working with A-listers including Kevin Costner, Harrison Ford, Helen Mirren, Nicole Kidman, and Zoe Saldaña. pagesix.com/2026/08/16/ent…

Almost impossible to believe that 3 of the incredibly talented people in these photos are gone. And trust me when I tell you, they were even better humans. Each of them couldn’t have been more kind and gracious toward me. They taught me a ton about navigating the business and even more about navigating life. RIP Vincent. Here’s to many sitdowns with James and Tony at the Satriale’s in the sky.
