So this is what started it all. The Japanese asked the rioters in France not to loot and riot while cosplaying anime. Of course, the rioters were nasty in response. Now it’s “We are only responding to Japanese racism”.

日本とフランスのネットバトルを初期から観察してたけど、フランス側で「日本が最初に人種差別を始めた（俺たちは反撃しただけ）」という主張が主流になっているのを見て、「ああ、これが"ナラティブ"というやつか」としみじみしている。単に「アニメのコスプレで略奪すんな」が発端だったのに。
