if you take comms on vgen, i think its best to make an awareness post ahead of time (even if u havent experienced this). i think theyre targeting vgen artists and messaging clients based on what we post on our portfolio there!
you might be the next target artist

also listen, we went through an oversaturation of "brown haired white boy has silly adventure with friends" cartoons for DECADES
i think we can survive an "oversaturation" of "queer girl leads saving the world with the power of friendship" for a bit

Most people upset at this don't even understand what they're upset at.
THE ACTUAL ISSUE is HOW this gets implemented.
In theory, this fixes a core issue of the current internet: Information that used to be publicly accessible in forums has shifted to being walled off in Discord.
Discord will soon make public server messages searchable on Google
The feature will be enabled by default for US adults, but users can opt out in their privacy settings
Readers added context they thought people might want to know
Discord's update is limited to future messages (mid-Dec 2026+) from public channels in Discoverable Servers only (a subset of ~63k specific public servers with 1k+ members); not all servers or past messages. Users/admins can opt out.

>discord gets popular, killing forums
>everyone complains cuz now information is trapped in walled gardens, inaccessible to search engines
>discord says "okay fine, search engines can index public servers"
>everyone complains again for some reason

i love when people discover that you can literally do better flash animations than flash itself on blender and then code them to match the camera view
blender is a program whos entire existence is to be forever glazed to death because it is just that good.

It's an everyday horror story. You're the eldest child and the only one with a job. Each payday, pick what gets paid, then come home to what you couldn't afford.
