I'm not gonna sit here and tell you that the Memphis Grizzlies have face a gauntlet to start the season. We all know that's not true.
But winning three straight on the road- including a back to back- with an incredibly young team wouldn't be easy for anybody.
And I get all the “red flags” with Jerome
-significant injury history
-contract year, near 30 breakout
-acquiring team gotta pay him this summer
Which are all valid, and what potential buyers will try to talk down price
But if Grizz feel Jerome is real, good asset to keep
To be clear, trading him has plenty of logic
If a team overpays, Grizz can get a really intriguing young player, or another 2029 first, that’s sensible
Im saying trading him because he doesn’t fit a timeline or that trading him is preferred no matter what seems flawed
The Grizzlies know this, but the whole “Jerome is likely traded due to not being on the core timeline” narrative is more content for content than reality.
If the Grizz prove they can win sooner than expected and Jerome is a big factor, keeping him long term should be focus
"A disabled player exception, if granted by the league, can only be used on players who are only under contract for the current season in question. OKC could certainly use one of its trade exceptions to take in a contract of that size... Ty Jerome, whether or not the Thunder show interest, is bound to generate trade feelers between now and the trade deadline given the Grizzlies perceived focus on its young trio of Boozer, Edey and Coward," per @TheSteinLine.

The past two games are exactly what you want from Ced Coward
16 points and 11 boards in each game along with being 7-9 from 3
If the shot is consistent, Coward’s steadiness just makes it so much easier for offensive floor to consistently be above average
Winning impact

That was the 10th game in Grizz franchise history in which they committed 29 or more personal fouls in regulation.
They are now 7-3 in those games.
Ty Jerome may have struggled a bit tonight, but he is turning into a reliable closer
8 of last 12 Grizz points in final 5:16 of game scored via Jerome
15 of the 23 Grizz points scored in “clutch” scenarios have also come via Jerome
No moment to big for Ty
4-0 the result
I think it makes sense for Memphis look inside and use their size
Obviously a 2 minuter Jerome heater would also do the trick
But go where you have the size advantage for the highest percentage looks plus higher chances of getting to line
Grizzlies Bench:
43 points
7-15 from 3
Jazz Bench:
26 points
3-13 from 3
Difference in game so far on a night both starting lineups have been limited due to injuries and the whistles

#Braves Bobby Cox was eject from Game No. 6 of the #WorldSeries 30 years ago today, on Oct. 26, 1996. He was also ejected from a World Series game on Oct. 20, 1992. He remains the only person, including players, ever to be ejected from multiple World Series games.
Decent Start
some fun on/off net rating swings for the #grizzlies' starters after 3 games
If you
A.) Have issue with the Grizzlies succeeding
And
B.) Have issue with others being excited about the Grizzlies succeeding
Then the simple truth is it is not the Grizzlies or others where the issue lies…
The issue is you are wrong
