Just a reminder that it’s normal to drive your car until it dies, cook dinner most nights, live in a smaller home, pack your lunch, keep your phone until it stops working, buy used before buying new, make coffee at home, and wear the same clothes for years.

I am so excited to announce my newest partnership with the The Hidden Opponent! @hidden_opponent
The Hidden Opponent is a nonprofit organization that raises awareness about student-athlete mental health and performance challenges, breaks the stigma surrounding mental health in sports, and provides resources and support to athletes struggling with anxiety, depression, stress, and pressure. Its message is that athletes are more than their performance, and mental health matters just as much as physical health.
What started as a school speech on a nonprofit organization has turned into a partnership I am so passionate about! I cannot wait to share more about my journey in an upcoming blog and inspire others along their journey to know you are NOT alone! YOU ARE MORE than the athlete and your performance! 💚💚💚

Neither political party is going to change your life.
No one is going to change your life.
The only one who can change it is you.

Schools: “Please keep your kids home when they’re sick.”
Also schools: “Your kid has missed too many days. Attendance is mandatory. Keep it up and we are calling social services. You may end up in jail, maybe”
Parents are stuck in the middle.
Send a sick kid to school? You’re irresponsible.
Keep them home to recover? You’re risking an attendance problem.
Which is it?

We’ve created a school system where the students who follow the rules get the least attention…because all the energy goes into managing the ones who don’t.

Baseball IQ
The hardest thing to teach isn't physical mechanics.
It's situational decision-making.
Baseball IQ is what consistently separates good players from winning players.
I'm taking a deep dive into how coaches can improve baseball IQ in the coming weeks.
Follow.

Talked with a group of high school baseball players the other day. Interesting takeaway of the day:
If 10% of high schoolers play in college, then 90% don’t.
But there are kids who want to play in college, yet do the same things- same choices and decisions- as the 90% who don’t.

I don’t know how anyone can teach middle school for more than a week without realizing one thing:
These kids need recess, bruh.

Sometimes the best prescription is fewer prescriptions
We have developed a bizarre tendency in modern healthcare to equate more treatment with better treatment. I strongly disagree. Good medicine isn’t measured by how many prescriptions somebody takes. It should be measured by whether what we’re doing helps that person live longer, function better, remain independent and enjoy the highest possible quality of life.
Sometimes that means adding a medication. Absolutely. But sometimes excellent medicine means removing one, reducing the dose, or realizing that the reason it was prescribed 5 years ago no longer exist

I hope that everyone understands that both parties hate us and will collapse this country.
If you're celebrating political victories tonight then you've lost the plot.
