I was honored to be interviewed for this story about my friend, mentor & CJA predecessor, @maudlynei. Our relationship comes in about 2/3 of the way into the story, but I encourage you to read the whole piece. Her journey has inspired me & many others.

Marla taught my 1st journalism class & more @DePaulJOUR. My 1st clip was one I wrote for her. I’ve seen the DePaulia do fantastic work & win awards under her leadership. There’s no question of her impact on students’ careers. Congrats on a job well done & deserved retirement!
Some personal news—I will be retiring from DePaul at the end of the school year. The last 16 years have been a great run and I’m proud of the work done in the classroom and @TheDePaulia . Thanks to so many amazing students and colleagues for making it happen. #nextchapter
