I wrote a letter to @jhieditor with @philnorville to prompt discussion on getting towards standardisation of hospital wastewater sampling reflectionsipc.com/2024/05/2… This should help us to meaningfully compare all of the hospital wastewater microbiology that's out there!

This from @WHO @CERN, together with the landmark publication yesterday on mandating indoor air quality standards (science.org/doi/10.1126/scie…), is game-changing both for the here & now & for pandemic preparedness where it is the lowest handing fruit for protection. The #PandemicAccord process should not ignore it. 1/
For the last few years, @WHO and @CERN have been developing a risk assessment tool to estimate indoor airborne transmission of #SARSCoV2 to better advise on risk mitigation measures for #COVID19.🧵 home.cern/news/news/knowledg…

Replying to @CollignonPeter
What nonsense. A flawed study with conclusions not supported by the results. And not even peer-reviewed. I have been a research professor for 30 years. If this study was submitted by an undergraduate research student I’d fail it

A good take on the changes proposed to COVID isolation recommendations
From vaccine recommendations to isolation guidance, American leaders seem bent on aligning COVID policies to those for flu. That threatens to minimize the disease’s still-high toll, @KatherineJWu writes. theatlantic.com/health/archi…

Much better messaging in Victoria than across the State border…
Recent data shows we’re coming out of this COVID wave. This is great news! However, please remember the virus is still here. It can still cause serious illness, long COVID & death, particularly in vulnerable groups. These simple steps remain important even between COVID waves.
