With #HB1608, some lawmakers are trying to silence any mention of LGBTQ people in schools, grades K-3, which risks preventing kids with LGBTQ parents from even talking about their families. These families are fighting back against the "Don't Say Gay" bill. #IndianaSlateOfHate

Our schools should protect all students—including LGBTQ students—so they can learn and thrive in a safe environment. The legislators behind HB 1608 are trying to force schools to violate that most basic trust. LGBTQ families in Indiana will not be erased.

BREAKING: The Indiana House has passed HB 1608, a disgraceful "Don't Say Gay" bill censoring discussion or even acknowledgment of LGBTQ people in schools. The bill also forces teachers to out trans students without their consent — risking their safety at both school and home.
