Michelle and I were saddened to learn about the passing of Bob Zimmer, the 13th President of the University of Chicago.
Bob was a visionary leader and one the most influential university presidents in the country. During his time at the University of Chicago, he built upon its rigorous academic reputation, grew the university’s footprint around the world and throughout the South Side, and helped expand access through scholarships and financial aid.

Found this today. It was a gift from my bus driver, Ms Jan. I still keep it because I loved Ms. Jan and rode her bus for 7 years. Never forget the role EVERY adult plays in a district. It just takes one connection to make a huge impact. ❤️

Schools may think they want me to present on “bullying,” but after we talk, they get why that’s too narrow. To change kids’ behavior, we 1st need to normalize social churn, demystify popularity, operationalize kindness, help them assume good intent, & ID when & why they’re mean.

So honored to receive such high recognition from two amazing CCS students! It was the best way to start my day ❤️
November is a great month to focus on gratitude and all I have to be grateful for. This year, I have decided to focus on how grateful I am to be a part of CCS. Today, I am grateful for amazing leaders who lend a helping hand when needed.
I had a great time substitute teaching @CarmelMiddleSch today in German and Social Studies. Our students worked extremely hard and were focused as they engaged with their class work. #MyCCS
