This is not true. I should’ve seen the BBC news that morning - but the FOI confirms I was not briefed. Jeez, if I’d known, I’d have given a damn sight better answer than I did at the time! An answer that wasn’t acceptable and nobody was more frustrated than myself about that.

I was so incredibly sad to learn this morning of the death of my colleague, and friend, Bill Cormie. He was a wonderful local councillor, respected by all. His stories of yesteryear were just as you would expect, full of character and laughter. We will miss him terribly.
