Knoxville residents and business owners are invited to register their private security cameras with the Knoxville Police Department’s Real Time Information Center (RTIC)! Through the Connect Knoxville camera registry program, residents can help solve crimes and improve the safety of their neighborhood by voluntarily sharing camera information with the KPD. Camera registration does not allow KPD to access cameras in real time. Instead, it simply lets RTIC staff know that a camera is in a specific location and the contact information for the camera owner. When a crime occurs in a neighborhood, RTIC staff can review the registry, ask camera owners to review their footage for potential evidence and request footage through a secure link.
