Agency is precious because the lucidities that purposeful work and responsibility bring are the real education. The secret of the world is that it is a very malleable place, we must be sure that people learn this, and never forget the order: Learning is the consequence of doing.

Even people who have been completely unemployed during the pandemic never stopped working. They took care of families, constantly searched & applied for jobs, pursued new training, and/or just struggled daily to navigate the UI system/social support. No vacations were had.

The pandemic is NOT OVER. Millions of people are still out of work. Unemployed workers need continued relief.
That includes:
📢All UI programs extended past Sept + additional claim weeks
📢UI/PUA/PUC tax cancelled

Yes, we should use this opportunity to reform UI. But to do so, we will need to motivate workers to reach out to their legislators. The only way to do that is to give workers a voice in these conversations & make sure the policy proposals speak to & for us. #SocialSafetyNet
