Many congratulations to Leigh Payne, the latest @theSNP Councillor for Avondale and Stonehouse, elected in a by-election tonight. Great news.

Great to be in Cardiff to meet with colleagues in Plaid Cymru and Sinn Féin.
Our parties share the belief that the people of our respective nations must be able to shape their own future.
At this pivotal moment of constitutional change, we will deepen our partnership.

Support for rejoining the European Union is at its highest level since the Brexit vote – but political leaders need to seize the opportunity or it will all come to nothing, the UK’s leading polling guru John Curtice has warned.
An Independent Scotland in the EU is possible.
The winds of change are gathering beneath us, let use them to blow us in that direction.
Vote @theSNP
🚨 WOW! Support for rejoining the EU is at an all-time high.
Sir John Curtice says that among those choosing between the two options:
🇪🇺 Rejoin: 61%
🇬🇧 Stay out: 39%
That is the highest sustained level of support for rejoining since 2016 and it has happened despite political leaders barely making the case.
Curtice says that if politicians offered arguments that were “anywhere halfway decent”, public support could rise further.
Britain is ready. The politicians are frightened.
@AndyBurnham must end the conspiracy of silence, make the positive case for Europe and drop the Brexit red lines.

I agree Wallace... 58 year old man living in Ballymena, Baptist, unionist background, haven't voted unionist in a long time, partition was wrong..

Bad news pal. I am a 66 year old East Belfast born Presbyterian and not only will there be and should be a UI, I think I will live to see it. The hand of history confines unionism to the past where it belongs

To go from “off limits” to this is an acceptance of the reality that the people of Scotland will decide their own future - not the UK Government.
For the first time since 2014, a British Prime Minister accepts that majority support for a referendum should mean one takes place.

🧵 1/ In May, the @ScotParl overwhelmingly voted for a call to devolve powers to hold an independence referendum.
Today I published the draft Independence Referendum Bill. It proposes a clear Yes-No question, sets out who can vote, and upon introduction, will include the date.
Labours fresh new ideas guy, is full of all the old ideas.
That’ll see them in the political wilderness in Scotland for some decades yet then.
EXCL: Scottish Labour leadership candidate Joe Fagan says there are no circumstances in which he will back indyref2.
He will also not support a cross-party agreement to agree a path for a second referendum.

“You can hold both positions at the same time, that’s not hypocritical”.
The kind of duplicity that is synonymous with “Scottish” Labour.
It’s pathetic.

Its so poor to treat an entire country like this.
Still Labour has always been this way - and Andy Burnham proving no different. – at Camden Town, London
