Please explain and help my singers understand why they can’t meet in more than 6 @PHE_uk - the science has not changed and no further evidence available according to @Voicedoctor_uk - #ChoirsMatter @acs1945 @cpc1945 @HonleyMVC

Good news today: @DCMS has confirmed "non-professional performing arts activity, including choirs, orchestras or drama groups can continue to rehearse or perform together where this is planned activity in line with the performing arts guidance..." makingmusic.org.uk/news/carr…

The recent @DCMS guidance on reopening performing arts prohibits amateur groups - unlike professionals - to play or sing together.
We believe this is unjustifiable and we're calling on the government to #BringBackMyBand / #BringBackMyChoir

When are you going to offer some financial support for live comedy, music and theatre, many of whose venues are about to shut for good?
Real pleasure to visit @NationalGallery ahead of it's reopening next week. Their remarkable Titian exhibition was only open for a few days before the gallery had to close but the team have worked incredibly hard to ensure it can be enjoyed safely again. #EnjoySummerSafely

Many thanks @JasonMcCartney for raising this question at #PMQs today. We wonder if it’s the first time HonleyMVC have ever been mentioned in the chamber?! The performing arts urgently need support & fully researched advice on how to come out of lockdown nitter.gq/FillouxPastry/status/1…

Many of the most transcendent musical experiences I have had have occurred not in the concert hall but in choral rehearsal rooms. It is the greatest privilege to hear a choir in full flight in some school hall, shaking the rafters, pouring their souls

#TuesdayTrivia Studies have shown that singing as a part of a group provides physical and emotional benefits. They have discovered that singing in a group releases feel-good hormones & reduces stress-causing ones. We did not need a study to tell us that. #BeHappy #JoinAChoir
