The GRU hacked into Jared Kushner's iPhone. Dutch military intelligence (MIVD) then recruited a GRU spy who gave them access to the hacked phone. What MIVD discovered was that Kushner had access to two bank accounts --one Azerbaijani, the other Israeli --where Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman and Emirati ruler Mohammed bin Zayed deposited money. It sounds like a slightly far-fetched episode of "Slow Horses," but it's real. And it proves just how eye-poppingly corrupt this administration was and continues to be as its "special envoy" decides the fate of tens of millions in Europe in the Middle East. Simply incredible reporting by Matthew Cole, drawn from his new book on Kushner. vanityfair.com/story/jared-k…

The next time Nick Clegg in invited onto BBC to pontificate as an independent tech expert…please note that here he is, named in the $27bn New Mexico judgment as one of execs engaged in a systematic cover-up of Facebook’s deceptive consumer practices.
Woah! Go New Mexico. This is a really important message to Silicon Valley tech companies: you are not above the law

Oh look that’s more than what’s needed to solve world hunger So really spending it on anything but hey?
Elon Musk says "I will give one of my SpaceX shares to every kid in America" starting next year and "this will be the first of many." The total giveaway would be worth more than $10.5 billion at the current stock price. Musk — the richest person in the world — didn’t explain how “every kid” in the U.S. would be granted one of his company shares. His net worth is currently estimated at $908 billion, according to Bloomberg. variety.com/2026/digital/new…

Oh right I missed the data grabbing part of the operation
In 2020, Elon Musk summed up Das Kapital as "Gib me dat for free", a phrase long used as a racist caricature of welfare recipients. Today he's promising free SpaceX shares to "every kid in America". His latest tweet comes just a day after Anthropic grabbed headlines with its public benefit fund, two weeks before the midterms, and months after Trump publicly leaned on him to donate to Trump Accounts. It's worth about $10.5bn, roughly 1% of his SpaceX stake. There are no details. Who qualifies? Through what accounts? What does "first of many" mean? If sign-up runs through X or a Musk-run portal, his companies could collect identity data on tens of millions of households right before an election. The same concern was raised about his 2024 $1m-a-day giveaway. A tweet cost him *nothing*. Until he explains how it works, treat it as PR, not philanthropy.

ITM, the “cancel culture” crew
A brief review of recent technical “errors” at Meta: 1. Restricting the Facebook pages of Brazilian president Lula who is in a runoff election against a Trump-favored candidate 2. Shutting down the pages of Albanians protesting Jared Kushner’s plans to build a luxury resort in the country 3. Rejecting ads for a documentary critical of Elon Musk 4. Shutting down the No Kings instagram page in the middle of a major anti-Trump protest

Imagine a world where a Russian agent would become president of the USA, start a botched war with Iran to make oil price soar, then blame Ukraine for the high oil prices they're responsible of while coming to the rescue of Russia's "all eggs in the Oil basket" economy

This is unacceptable and I expect Anthropic's shareholders to quickly correct their model so it advocates until 49 *billion* dead and more than $1 *billion billion* in damage as this is obviously too kind to irrelevant people not part of the tech billionaire bro club
So under Anthropic's bill, Anthropic can kill 49 people and steal up to a billion dollars before anyone can legally stop them

Europe’s pro-Russia commentators are absolutely furious with this headline because it correctly describes what they are advocating. Hats off to the @Telegraph here. This is a great example of that old adage in journalism: “If someone says it's raining and another person says it's dry, it's not your job to quote them both. Your job is to look out the fucking window.” In this interview, Mendel advocates for Ukraine to surrender territory to Russia, and surrender its sovereign right to choose its own security alliances, both of which would only escalate Russian aggression in future. She also praises the German far right for their pro-Russia position and says Ukraine is 40% responsible for being invaded. So this is a perfectly correct headline summarising her position, but it’s no wonder the pro-Russia commentators are furious. They still think they can be subtle when laundering pro-Russia and pro-war positions within the language of just wanting what’s best for ordinary Ukrainians. They think if they partly acknowledge that Russia is responsible for Russia’s invasion then that gives them free rein to spout pro-Russian views without challenge. They feel smug about their ability to play this game with us all and get away with it. They are so self-entitled that they don’t expect anyone to call them out on it. Those days should be over. Call out pro-Russia and pro-war commentators for exactly what they are advocating. It’s time we all look out the fucking window.

Quick question, is there a “remote crash activation” option in case Elon suddenly decides he doesn’t like you?
Tesla has unveiled its new and redesigned Roadster - a 'flying car' that can turn in the air and land. Developed in collaboration with CEO Elon Musk’s rocket company SpaceX, it's claimed the Roadster can accelerate from zero to 60mph in less than one second and can hit a top speed of over 230 mph. Tesla demonstrated the two-seater vehicle at a livestreamed event in Texas, showing it driving upside down on a ramp and performing a mid-air flip. Musk told the crowd, "It can basically fly like a rocket", but admitted it's "not necessarily a safety-optimised car." It remains unclear how the proposed flying features would work on public roads, or whether they would be legal. Production is set to start in 2028.

%$&*!!! whoa. This reads that Meta is looking to grant itself the rights to scrape websites across the open web - and train Meta's AI - once a company uses Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp or other Meta services after October 30, 2026. So every biz. Read that again. Outrageous. 1/5

This is quite the about-turn. Trump threatens to sue the BBC for $10B -> the BBC calls his bluff -> Trump panics -> the BBC are now pursuing Trump. Outstanding. This shows that when you stand up to the big bully, he'll almost always back down.
🚨BREAKING: President Trump has backed out of his October 16 deposition in his own $10 BILLION defamation lawsuit against the BBC, citing “matters of national importance,” prompting the broadcaster to ask a federal judge to compel his testimony. Think about that.

The Yandex Strikes and the effect on Bot Farms: the mystery explained clearly…
1/5 The massive Yandex outages following recent drone strikes on Russian data centers have triggered a noticeable shift online. While many celebrated a "drop in bot traffic," the reality is far more nuanced. Here is how it actually impacts Russian influence ops. 👇

Of all the people who could cast some light on this subject, BBC Newsnight chose…Putin’s former spokesman?
"It's a direct lie... Either Prime Minister Burnham is lying, or the intelligence service of Great Britain." Former Putin spokesperson Sergei Markov says that the PM's claim that Russia interfered in the 2016 Brexit referendum is "absolutely a clear lie." #Newsnight

A specific confirmation that no hacker got anywhere near the referendum results collation system would be nice I guess
If Russia did interfere in the Brexit referendum, Burnham needs to explain: 1) What Russia did 2) How successful it was 3) Who knew about this and when 4) Whether interference continued beyond 2016

And yes I do understand this may well be a poisoned topic that might trigger unrest The thing is why would you let such a trigger hang over your country instead of addressing it on your own terms? 🤷‍♀️ (Belief in your lucky star?)
