Over the last year I've slowly been writing this 7,000 word post telling the story of @Stocketa and document its design. Stocketa was my iOS portfolio tracker app—a 2.5 year side project I designed, built.. and never launched. 🧵

Deployed a Stocketa.com redesign. ✨ This was a fun one to design and build. @StocketaApp

✨ Designed and built a new way to interact with stocks to access details, holdings, etc for @StocketaApp. The amount of work this took to make this all functional and feel seamless (still some things left to fix/tweak of course) was insane. nitter.gq/Stammy/status/15481381…

inspired by robb's explorations with .anchorPreference I prototyped an alternate stock focus state for @StocketaApp tapping the stock instantiates an identical view in the exact position in an overlay where i have it placed in a scrollview where i can add related views

fun little bug while working on stock splits for @StocketaApp 😅

Without that, the scrubbing indicator (vertical line/etc + faded out part of the line) wouldn't show up until you start moving horizontally. That really lacked some nice visual (and haptic) feedback. minor thing but was bugging the heck out of me as i wrote my charting code

Been working on a fun way to show your subscription status for @StocketaApp: - interactive membership card with motion-controlled colors - "starfield" particle emitter that goes faster when you're interacting with the card

took a stab at building my own pull down to search interaction for @StocketaApp. this was super fun to build still have quite a few things to tweak until i'm happy with it i love #SwiftUI so much 😍

was writing some backend stock split code for @StocketaApp late last night (in prod, as one does). i didn't account for one scenario and found out because someone emailed at 5am letting me know. love that someone noticed so quickly as i only have a small testflight userbase

Redesigned the settings page a bit (some parallax, and custom header bar across pages - still work in progress) And decided to make a page to advertise the widgets @StocketaApp has and how to install them. Feels like you don’t know if an app has widgets unless you go looking

I did it 12 Mini and the Anker mag-safe battery 🔋 my new dev device for @StocketaApp 📈

📈 Recently been building some backend bits for @StocketaApp to send a daily close-of-market notification to show how your investments did for the day, along with the ability to limit the push to only notable changes. What else would you like to have pushed?
