Have a lovely day everyone 🤗xx
Good morning everyone, I hope you have a wonderful day ahead.
On this day in music, 22nd of October:
2002 ~ Foo Fighters released their fourth studio album, One by One. Dave Grohl, for the first time didn't play on the drums - the whole album was made (first time) with Taylor Hawkins on drums.
2017 ~ Marilyn Manson guitarist Daisy Berkowitz (real name: Scott Putesky) dies of colon cancer at age 49.
2025 ~ David Ball, an electronic musician known for his work in Soft Cell and The Grid, dies at 66.
Thinking of all those who lost their lives at Aberfan, 60 years ago today and all of those who are still affected by it.
Terrible disaster and many of us had family who attended the scenes for recovery or were directly affected. Awful.
The coal board ignored years of warnings about the slag heap and still piled onto it.
144 souls were lost and all the bodies recovered. 116 children, 28 adults.
A tragic situation that could and should have been avoided.

If your visiting hedgehogs have disappeared into hibernation - well done! 🥰
Hedgehogs will only attempt to enter the hibernation process if they are healthy and have enough brown fat to see them though winter.
Thanks to you and your kind provisions of safe food and clean water they have reached that happy state.
Hedgehogs occasionally rise from hibernation for a top up, so please keep providing food and clean water all through the winter.
Covering the biscuits with a saucer will keep dry cat food fresh for around 3 days, before it starts losing its crunch, aroma, and nutritional quality.
Here's dear sweet Anya, who rose from her hibernation last night for a top-up snack, before going back to bed. She has been in hibernation since 1st September.
The babies she gave birth to here in June dispersed when they were old enough, but sweet Anya decided the maternity wing of the winter cabin makes a nice home, thanks very much, and has stayed.😁
Anya's history: xitter.cf/HedgehogCabin/status/2…
Darling Anya who arrived so terribly sick has responded really well to her treatments and is now in tip-top health. She is due to go home tomorrow.
Well, she was....
As you can see from my bodycam footage, Anya gave birth this morning.❤️
I'd lifted her bed box out, cleaned her pen, and was about to open the box to weigh and medicate her when I noticed the wet lid lining.
From experience I've seen birthing fluids evaporate with mum's body warmth then condensate on the lid, wetting the lining, so I went very carefully.
What we catch a quick glimpse of here is a baby she's literally just given birth to.
Hoglets are born with soft white spines, which are hidden beneath a fluid-filled layer of skin to protect the mother during birth.
This is what you see here.
Within 1 to 2 hours this protective skin shrinks and retracts, allowing the baby's white spines to break through and become visible.
From now on sweet Anya will be left hands off, undisturbed in the seclusion of her pen, allowing her to bond with her new babies in peaceful solitude.

Good morning everyone, I hope you have an amazing Tuesday ahead.
On this day in music, 20th of October:
1976 ~ The Led Zeppelin concert documentary, The Song Remains The Same, premiered in New York City. Filming took place during the summer of 1973, capturing three nights of shows at Madison Square Garden.
1977 ~ Rockers Lynyrd Skynyrd boarded a chartered plane after playing a concert at Greenville Memorial Auditorium. The band were headed to Baton Rouge for a concert the following night, but the plane ran out of fuel and the pilots attempted an emergency landing that tragically, failed.
Lead vocalist Ronnie Van Zant and guitarist Steve Gaines were killed in the crash, as were backing singer Cassie Gaines (Steve’s older sister), and the band’s assistant road manager, Dean Kilpatrick.
2003 ~ Amy Winehouse released her debut album, Frank. The title of the album has a double meaning, both honouring one of Winehouse’s favourite singers, Frank Sinatra, and the vocalist’s love for honest lyricism.
Obviously being a huge Led Zep fan, I have to go with Black Dog, Live at Madison Square Gardens '73, as it's one of the shortest songs and videos from the album and film. 😂

The Islamic Republic wants you to forget what they did to protesters in January. We won’t let you forget.
They massacred our children. How do they think they will walk away from this? We won’t let them.
In France, rioters don’t care what happens to them because they live in a free and somewhat fair society.
To those pro-Palestinians defending this regime, don’t think time won’t catch up with you. All of you will be exposed at your worst moments.
Good morning everyone, Monday it is! Ugh.
On this day in music, 19th of October:
2020 ~ Spencer Davis, one of the key figures of the 60s beat scene, died at the age of 81.
1991 ~ Oasis played The Boardwalk in their hometown Manchester, the group’s first gig with Noel Gallagher in the group. The band was at the bottom of the bill, performing before The Catchmen and Sweet Jesus.
2024~ Ozzy Osbourne, who is already included with Black Sabbath, is inducted into the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame as a solo artist
As I've always been a massive fan of all these ones today, it was hard to decide but I went with Spencer Davis Group ~ I'm a Man.
