I know everyone has "spy balloon" questions.....I was interviewed for this article in Nature and @nicolakimjones has the science dialed in :) nature.com/articles/d41586-0…

NHS and @hinklecreek team up for an engineering study launching, tracking and analyzing data on a weather balloon!
VIDEO: STEM Student projects go from the Earth to the Edge of Space on a high-altitude balloon. (The balloon bursting is EPIC!!!) #stratostar0455 youtu.be/ulustUU9uGY
Today we were flight testing some prototype electronics for a new product…looks like it had some issues. We have been tracking along with the back-up tracking and the balloon and payloads landed in some woods near Sulfur Springs Indiana. #stratostar0455
Balloon has launched! Waiting for more data to come through! :) #stratostar0455
Made it to the launch site….almost ready to fill the balloon!!! Here are the student projects today :) #stratostar0455
We had some technical issues to resolve this morning for #stratostar0455 mission and the updated time data will stream is 12:15 to 12:30 pm (Eastern)
Aerospace STEM: Track the StratoStar High-Altitude Balloon lifting student projects from all over the country. tracking.stratostar.net/miss… #stratostar0455
Ready for today’s StratoStar High-Altitude Balloon launch!!! #stratostar0455
CAP High-Altitude Balloon Challenge: Thousands of students worked on science projects over the summer. They were mailed to StratoStar and flow to the edge of space and returned for analysis! Check out the flight video! Thank you @capaerospace youtu.be/qWjzHME20UE
BALLOON EXPLODES AT THE EDGE OF SPACE!!! We partnered with @CivilAirPatrol and @CAPaerospace to provide thousands of students across the USA an Aerospace experience to fly Science Projects to the edge of space and back. Footage from 86,000ft above the Earth. #CAPchallenge21
This StratoStar mission was a part of the National Civil Air Patrol (CAP) High-Altitude Balloon Challenge. Where CAP squadrons and their cadets (students) across the country worked over the summer on science projects which were shipped to Indiana and flown with two balloons.
The whole event was broadcast live on YouTube by @aerospace_live so all the teams involved could follow along with the mission regardless of their location. Check out the video from the event: youtu.be/KFVy1i_tcAU
FLIGHT VIDEO: Just finished editing the flight video from SHARE Mission #stratostar0427 where student projects reached 93,000 ft above the Earth using a high-altitude weather balloon. (Check out the EPIC burst!!!) youtu.be/vNSopOaGu10
WHAT IS THIS??? I was looking through the videos from yesterday's #stratostar0427 high-altitude balloon mission and saw this weird thing on the horizon....can you use the GOES-EAST satellite image taken at exactly the same time over Indiana to figure it out? #stem #earthsci
Great video from the DJI Action camera at 96,000 ft over Indiana on today's student high-altitude balloon mission! #stratostar0427
Checking out the SD cards from the GoPro and DJI Action and captured some great footage from today's student high-altitude balloon mission at 96,000 ft . We captured the burst!!! #stratostar0427
Payloads recovered!!! If you have to land in a tree make sure it is 8 ft tall 🤣🍎🌳 Pics coming soon #stratostar0427
We are tracking the balloon with the back-up beacon. The balloon has burst and we are headed out to the landing zone. #stratostar0427
