I just heard some extremely disturbing news about my previous day job that I had left in December.
I often complained a lot about my day job, because it just wasn't for me. But I didn't think something so horrible and unforgivable would ever happen there.

Having the eyes of people that you know feels violating when they aren't invited to that space. Even when you're a content creator with big goals.
Especially when they didn't know you were a content creator in the first place. And you're unapologetically your authentic self online. 🫣
Sometimes you don't realize just how toxic a situation was until you're out of it.
You can romanticize it and try to make it better, but it'll still be taking a toll on you. A polished turd is still a turd and isn't going to become a diamond.
The best solution is getting out.

Today was officially my last day at my day job after a little over 5 years. ❤️🩹
While I’m feeling a little bit of grief for leaving behind the familiar, I’m excited for what comes next. Certainly there are people and elements of the job that I’ll miss. But I also know that this job wasn’t in alignment with my true path.
I’m grateful for the experience. And honestly? I don’t feel any bitterness now that I’ve walked clocked out for the last time.
