🚨 A US lawmaker just called out one of the biggest problems with modern gaming: You PAY for games, but do you actually OWN them? 🤔 • Buying a game would grant ownership rather than simply a license • Players would have rights to own, play AND transfer purchased games • Online games would need an offline mode before servers are shut down • Torres specifically points to NBA 2K25 being delisted and having its servers shut down roughly two years after release • The proposal would direct the FTC to establish consumer protections • Important: this has been announced but has not become law, and reporting indicates it has not yet been formally introduced in Congress •Sony must hate this politician 💀 His argument is simple: “When you pay for a game, you should own it.”
