Andy Burnham on AS and hospices: “While I would vote in favour of the *principle* of the bill, in terms of the *implementation* of it I would say there should be a requirement that the hospices of this country get properly funded and sorted out before that law change comes in. “Cos at the moment, the hospices live hand to mouth. And end-of-life care, palliative care, is not the strong position that it should be in. “So consequently, you can’t have this law change with an underfunded hospice movement. I think you need to sort out the funding of hospices and then allow this change to come in.”
