Entirely enjoyed this note. Unfashionable to be pro-Norm, but also when listening to him lecture wow he's articulate, city-scale in vision, polymathic in connecting dots - whilst same time dubious clients, climate questionable projects, avoids paying British tax. Both. Two hands

But Stuart, @MIPIMLads images of problematic panels prove the point. MIPIM hosted hundreds of them. Many all white panels. Many all male. Yes, one you referring to has 1 woman. But the overall lack of progress is outrageous. It's 2022! Is this progress? Really? This...?

That made me chuckle. No, none the SE, M+Es I collaborate with exactly Jordan Belfort. Or Leonardo Di Caprio throwing dollar bills off the side of a yacht.Meant more as metaphor of an attitude, jump on a plane to drink it up on the beach whilst the world burns. Morally bankrupt

Oh gosh no need to apologise, was just giving an 'update' of sorts. Always great and very very much needed to have manbassadors recognising this is an issue and speaking out on it, gender equity being an issue not only for women

Think that the smart - but accurate - parody work being done by @MIPIMLads, revealing the optics of the gender imbalance, show there are rather more than three....

Absolutely agree Christine - improvement in delegation not directly comparable to improvement (or a lack of improvement) in diversity of on panels. Who is invited to speak indicates the voices and points of view that are valued and promoted. And women are being left out
Good to hear Lisa but doesn't appear representation - gendered, and also racial diversity - being taken in any way seriously panels and chaired events. The optics don't paint a good picture. That matters because it's indication of voices considered of value. And too, role models

The good ones. But the point was that being invited to go to MIPIM in Cannes to prance around on a beach drinking cocktails and schmooze, whilst there is a world war on, biting global inequality, ongoing global pandemic - is somewhat Wolf of Wall Street-styled behaviour.
Today someone set up @MIPIMLads It's a bit genius. Re-posting the optics that highlight the gendered (and racialised) events happening at #MIPIM2022 Lads lads lads. Men on tour. Diversity what? @MIPIMWorld #ManFestival #MenAtMIPIM #MIPIM2022 #Lads
