Nearly ten years ago, I first approached the David Bowie estate about creating “STAGE”—an immersive, multimedia arena show that would let audiences of up to 17,000 experience one of David’s finest filmed performances in a room full of like-minded fans. It seemed destined to be one of those ideas that arrive and vanish almost in the same breath. But for some reason, this one stayed. DAVID BOWIE “STAGE” will have its world premiere on February 14 at the Uber Arena in Berlin as part of the Berlin Film Festival. What is it? It is not a movie screened in an arena. It is a curated multimedia experience designed specifically for arenas and presented on screens so large they require an arena setting. There is not one screen but several, each with its own image and perspective, inviting the audience to look where they want—more like theatre than cinema. Expect the unexpected. We began our first assembly in 2018 and have been refining the sound and color grading since completing Moonage Daydream in 2021. The sound was designed and mixed by the team that collaborated on Moonage Daydream, led by Academy Award winner Paul Massey and three-time nominee David Giammarco. The sound design was created by Academy Award winners John Warhurst and Nina Hartstone and will be presented in 7.1. The Lighting for the show has been designed by OBE Patrick Woodroffe, who collaborated with the Rolling Stones for decades. The lighting is as much a part of the experience as the sound and will be choreographed and integrated with the film elements in a way we’ve never seen. Hopefully, it will all work together seamlessly. One wonders. I suppose Berlin will be a bit of a high wire act. This show was built for 2027 and would not have been possible without recent technological advances. I am so grateful to the David Bowie Estate for entrusting me with this once in a lifetime opportunity. And am beyond grateful to Tricia Tuttle and her staff at the Berlin film festival for providing us with the most apropos launching pad. And to the Bowie community who have been so supportive throughout this 10 year journey, this one is for you.

DAVID BOWIE RETURNS TO ARENAS IN “STAGE” WITH BERLIN PREMIERE “Werden wir Helden, Fuer einen tag...” Here follows an edited excerpt of the press release, read the full thing here: davidbowie.com/blog/2026/10/… DAVID BOWIE RETURNS TO ARENAS IN “STAGE” LEGENDARY DAVID BOWIE 1978 CONCERT PRESENTED FOR THE FIRST TIME IN A GROUNDBREAKING GLOBAL IMMERSIVE EXPERIENCE WORLD PREMIERE - BERLIN UBER ARENA 14th FEBRUARY 2027 AS PART OF THE 77th BERLIN FILM FESTIVAL WONDERWORLD PARTNERS WITH THE DAVID BOWIE ESTATE, FILMMAKER BRETT MORGEN, TO RECREATE BOWIE’S ICONIC ISOLAR II "HEROES" WORLD TOUR. TICKETS ON SALE 28th OCTOBER 2026 VIA EVENTIM DAVID BOWIE IN "STAGE" TICKETS eventim.de/artist/david-bowi… LONDON, UK 27th OCTOBER — Wonderworld, in collaboration with the David Bowie Estate and visionary filmmaker Brett Morgen (Moonage Daydream, Montage Of Heck, The Kid Stays In The Picture), presents an unprecedented event bringing David Bowie’s legendary 1978 Isolar II tour to arenas. In association with the Berlin International Film Festival (Berlinale), David Bowie “Stage” will celebrate its world premiere in the Uber Arena Berlin on 14 February 2027. Tickets will go on sale at 9am on 28th October here DAVID BOWIE IN "STAGE" TICKETS. The groundbreaking show, assembled from raw, unseen 35mm film, will be presented across multiple screens, with an integrated lighting show designed by world-renowned lighting designer Patrick Woodroffe (The Rolling Stones, Elton John) and an immersive audio mix by Academy Award winner Paul Massey (Bohemian Rhapsody, James Bond - No Time To Die, Moonage Daydream). David Bowie conceived and produced “Stage” in 1978 during the Isolar II concerts at London’s Earls Court, promoting his iconic “Heroes” album. The legendary concerts, untouched in the Bowie Archives for almost 50 years, showcase Bowie at the zenith of his powers as a live performer and are considered among the best live performances of his career. It has taken five decades for technology to develop enough to bring his vision to life with cutting-edge spatial audio and visual tech. The production blurs the line between cinema and a live concert. Fans will achieve the sensations of attending an authentic David Bowie show. Brett Morgen unearthed the original footage 10 years ago while working on the Grammy Award-winning Moonage Daydream. As early as 2018, Morgen and the Bowie Estate began discussing the possibility of bringing “Stage” to arenas worldwide, it wasn’t until 2024, when former AEG Live President of International Rob Hallett joined, that the dream became a reality. Rob Hallett, Founder of Wonderworld and former President of AEG International, said, "David Bowie has bestowed upon us an extraordinary treasure—an unprecedented concert experience that has yet to be witnessed. Working hand-in-hand with David Bowie’s Estate and Brett Morgen, we are ensuring this experience is 100% faithful to his legacy while making his genius accessible to global fans and a new generation." #DAVIDBOWIEINSTAGE

BLAH-BLAH-BLAH PEAKED IN THE UK 40 YEARS AGO TODAY “I'm not the kind of guy who dresses like a king...” Released just over 40 years ago in the UK on Monday 29th September 1986, Iggy Pop’s Blah-Blah-Blah charted at its peak position of #43 on this day, 11th October. Produced by David Bowie and David Richards, it fared better in New Zealand and Switzerland where it was a top 20 release, and in Sweden it peaked at #3. The UK position was disappointing, considering both Iggy and Bowie fans would have been potential purchasers. The pair’s previous collaborations, The Idiot and Lust For Life, were top 30 albums in the UK in 1977. Six of the ten tracks on Blah-Blah-Blah were co-written with Bowie, though the biggest hit single from the album was a cover version: Real Wild Child (Wild One), which reached #10 and gave Iggy two Top Of The Pops’ appearances in January 1987. The only other performance on the show was Beside You in May 1994. These are the five singles in order of release: Cry for Love, Real Wild Child (Wild One), Shades, Fire Girl, and Isolation. Despite being blighted somewhat by the 80s production, it's actually a fine album, mainly due to the quality of the songs. Mention should be made of guitarist, ex-Sex Pistol Steve Jones, who also co-wrote three of the songs. If you’re not familiar with Blah-Blah-Blah, you really should give it a try. Personnel Iggy Pop – lead vocals Kevin Armstrong – guitar, backing vocals Erdal Kızılçay – synthesizer, bass guitar, drums, string arrangements, backing vocals Steve Jones – guitar solo on "Cry for Love" David Bowie – backing vocals Production David Bowie – producer, mixing David Richards – producer, engineer, mixing Nick Egan – art direction, design Michael Halsband – cover photography Bowie and Iggy are pictured here by Larry Busacca, backstage at The Ritz in New York, after Iggy’s show there during the Blah-Blah-Blah Tour in November 1986. #BowieIggy #BlahBlahBlah40

London in the 1960s. Commuters stream across London Bridge on their way to work in the City. But look around London Wall and the scars of war are still apparent. Parts of this area had been devastated during the Blitz and, more than 20 years later, the landscape was still being rebuilt and transformed. #London #1960s #LondonHistory #History
