This open letter from Victorian Premier Ben Carroll is a perfect example of Burnout Economics.
He talks about how bad the RBA are, then goes on to talk about how his government is throwing more cash into the economy.

NSW Health authorities quietly admitted that more than 20,000 western Sydney high school students who attended a mass Covid vaccination hub in late 2021 so they could sit the HSC were not provided adequate information about the potential risks “to allow informed consent to occur”.
The apology and admission, however, was not communicated to the public, but rather in a private response to a father who had opposed his two teenage daughters getting the vaccine.
Then-Health Minister Brad Hazzard, speaking to reporters on August 8, urged young people to “go for gold”.
“You have your HSC coming up in October, and in order to be able to do that safely, for you to be able to go and sit your exams, you have been given a golden opportunity to attend the Qudos Bank Arena next week,” Mr Hazzard said.
“We’ve seen our Olympic stars go for gold, we’ve seen the most amazing stars in the Qudos Bank Arena - Lana Del Rey, Keith Urban, Pink, Madonna.
“You have the chance to go to that stadium next week and actually land some gold by getting your first vaccination, your first Pfizer vaccination.
“NSW Health and Education are doing everything to back you in and make sure that you can go safely to your HSC exams, but what we really need you to do is go for gold next week.”
The Australian Immunisation Handbook now states that the Covid vaccine is “not routinely recommended for infants, children and adolescents” aged six months to 18 years.
“The benefits of vaccination may not outweigh the risk of potentially extremely rare but serious adverse events such as myocarditis/pericarditis.”

Bizarre how quiet this election is for physical signage on the streets. Can't recall an election in the last decade, state or federal, that had so few signs on houses in general. People either seem to be totally checked out or not willing to risk being targeted, which is concerning either way.
One of Australia's retail legacy brands collapses and it isn't even close to being the biggest economic calamity of the day. Welcome to Oz 2026 and strap in, it's not getting better any time soon

I’m not often on a unity ticket with One Nation, but I’m with them on this.
Violence in politics - against volunteers and supporters, against politicians and against their teams and their families - is un-Australian and unacceptable.

Point of Law is the Cup winner - the first time the law has been a winner in Melbourne for many years
So the Vic gov turned down private airport rail because it didn't work for them politically. They also turned down a private cancer clinic that may have saved many lives. They are despicable in every way

@BenCarrollMP blames overseas conflict as the “main driver” of inflation.
The RBA Governor says this rate rise addresses “domestic capacity pressures”
Then Ben lectures us about responsible spending.

Anthony Albanese and Tony Burke,
Held a press conference within 3 hours after the attack on Helen Haines.
We are yet to have a press conference from anyone from Labor doing the same thing for a CLEAR political attack on a one nation supporter.
Wanna know why?
Because they don’t care and it doesn’t suit their narrative.
Gee it's amazing how quiet the calls are for "restraint and respect" are when the victim of a clearly politically motived alleged bashing is an ON volunteer. Contrast this to the Haines attack, where no political motive is yet shown / 1
