There’s a Nepalese man on the news crying because he has lost his family in these terrible floods.
He says the floods were 10 times worse than even the worst floods they’ve ever seen.
I know people get irritated with people like me going on about climate change, but these are the stakes.
A lot of people are going to die, potentially millions, at worst billions.
I just can’t understand why the media and politicians cannot reflect what the scientists are telling us about the urgency of this moment.

URGENT: Please help us locate my brother-in-law, V.S. Balasubramanyam (Bali), a US citizen of Indian origin.
Bali was travelling with the Isha Foundation S3 Kailash/Mansarovar group.
His last known phone location, confirmed to his family by Andhra Bhavan, New Delhi, was the Chinese Immigration Centre at Gyirong, Tibet, on the morning of August 26, when the devastating flash flood struck.
His family has had no contact with him since, and his current status is unknown.
If anyone has information about Bali or the S3 group at the Gyirong immigration centre, please DM me.

Dr. Suresh Venkatachalam (63), Surgical Oncologist, SLV Caner Hospital. and Mrs. Thangalakshmi Jothiramalingam (56), from Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu, have been reported missing following the floods near the Nepal–Tibet/China border while returning from the Kailash Yatra.
If anyone has any information or contacts with rescue teams, hospitals, local authorities, or media in the affected region, please help.

Just a day before I lost my mom, I read a tweet here that said: “I lost my dad, the sun rose, the birds came out, the world moved on & it was all the same.” Something about it feels so awful bc it’s just sad that my mom is no more to see the blue skies or feel the cool breeze.
