Since so many people on both ends of the political spectrum seem to have lost the plot, let me clarify what America First means to me. You can agree with me or disagree with me. But if you disagree, you're wrong. And you better read the Constitution before arguing about it. 1. America comes first. Not Israel first. Not Ukraine first. Not Islam first. Not any foreign government, foreign ideology, international organization, political party, or individual politician. American interests and American citizens come first. Period. 2. Our Constitution is the standard. I believe the Constitution, individual liberties, religious freedom, freedom of speech, and the rule of law are the foundation of this country. No religious or political ideology should supersede those principles. 3. Foreign influence and divided loyalties deserve scrutiny. I don’t believe American officials should put the interests of a foreign government ahead of the United States. That applies to Israel just as it would apply to any other country. Foreign governments should not receive special treatment or unchecked influence over American policy. 4. I oppose religious systems imposing themselves on American government. Whether it’s Sharia law, Noahide laws or another religious legal system, I don’t want religious law replacing constitutional law. Religious freedom belongs to individuals. No religious authority gets to govern Americans outside the Constitution. 5. I want accountability regardless of who is responsible. I don’t want to excuse something because it’s committed by a political ally, a religious group, or a foreign government those in power have chosen to call an ally. Being America First should mean being constitutionally consistent. It means applying the same standards to our friends, our adversaries, our elected officials, and ourselves. I’m not looking for a political team to belong to. I’m looking for a government that remembers who it belongs to. The government belongs to the people. The Constitution limits the government. And no political party, politician, foreign government, or religious ideology is entitled to take precedence over either.
